Introduction

The below paper explains the common errors encountered after a successful implementation of SuPM ( Sustainability Performance Management )

The below errors are those which have been encountered after installing SuPM

Problem 1 All the links in the ldquoApplication Setuprdquo were disabled

Solution

The problem of the links being disabled basically occurs when the SuPM role has not been given the appropriate permissions in the portal

1) Activating the permissions of the SuPM role

If these permissions are not activated then certain links in the SuPM application are de-activated

Go to Permissions

Make the settings as below for users roles groups

Assign ldquoEnd Userrdquo permissions to all

Include the group ldquoEveryonerdquo here if it is not included

Include the role SuPM as shown above and assign the ldquoEnd userrdquo permissions this will enable the role SUPM to have End user permissions and the links will be dispalyed

Problem 2 User has read only access

Scenario You login to the SuPM application and try to create a report briefing book or a KPI and get the following error ldquo User has read only accessrdquo

ISSUE As seen in the screenshot when making a new briefing book

Actions gtgt New Briefing Book

This gives off the error ldquo User has read only accessrdquo

We have given all the roles as mentioned in the ldquoSecurity guiderdquo

The main catch is in the above line ldquoallrdquo Do not give all the roles

The SUPPORT role gives the user Read Only Access

Solution

Remove the role SAP_XA_SR_SUPPORT

Note We have made a Z role ( copied SAP role SAP_XA_SR_SUPPORT ) so I removed ldquoZSAP_XA_SR_SUPPORTrdquo

Remove the above highlighted role

This role gives only Read only access to that particular user so the user will not be able to create edit anything in the SuPM application

Problem 3 Loading roles and role assignments ldquoUser does not have any roles assignedrdquo

When we click on the SuPM link on the portal the SuPM portal does not open and keeps on loading forever with the message Loading roles and role assignments ldquoUser does not have any roles assignedrdquo

Solution

SuPM security guide mentions of a role SAP_XA_SR_USER

About this role

1) This role is needed to access the SAP BusinessObjects Sustainability Performance Management content tree 2) This role should be set as the primary role in the User Preferences after logging in

In this case we have copied the role from SAPrsquos SAP_XA_SR_USER to ZSAP_XA_SR_USER role

We got the error ldquoLoading roles and role assignmentsrdquo because we had given all the users ZSAP_XA_SR_USER role and maintained SAP_XA_SR_USER in SPRO

Problem Recommendation 4 SAP recommends to create a system object using the template with load balancing

This is not a problem but a recommendation from SAP to create the system object from a load balancing template

Goto System Administration System Configuration Portal Content

Right click on Systemlandscape and create a new system ( System from template )

Select ldquoSAP system with load balancingrdquo

This error occurred due to the port number being different in the system object ( SAP_BW )

I had maintained the port number as 81nn instead of 80nn

Where nn ABAP system number

Goto System Administration System Configuration Portal Content

The port number in the below entries was different

It should be 80nn where nn ndash AS ABAP Instance number

In the system object SAP_BW went to ITS settings and I changed the port number from 8100 to 8000

In the system object went to the WAS settings and changed the port number from 8100 to 8000

Problem 6 Serious error occurred while reading history folder

This error is basically encountered while browsing through one of the ldquoDetailed Navigationrdquo links displayed in the below screenshot

Solution

Go to the TCODE - RS_PERS_ACTIVATE

Select all three checkboxes and click on ldquoExecuterdquo

Scenario

This error usually comes after you have upgraded the SuPM Add ons ANASUSTUI OPMFNDUI SR_CORE or OPMFND

After an upgrade if you go to the SuPM application and try to load reports scorecards or briefing books it may not load and just throw off an error like

and no data will be loaded

In our case the user mentioned in the JCo had been locked We unlocked it still the error was not gone

We went to Visual Admin

Go to Destinations

Click on Web Service

And changed the userrsquos password mentioned in ldquoBasic Authenticationrdquo in all the destinations with sapxappsanalytics

Problem 9 Role ndash Neither a CRL nor a RRL

This error occurs when you login to the portal and try to Create Edit a KPI scorecard or a briefing book

Solution

This error occurs if one of the below conditions are not met

Condition 1

Assign the CRL and RRL roles in the userrsquos ID in ABAP

Condition 2

The role ZSAP_BW_SPM_001 is already present in the user ID in XB7 ( SuPM ABAP ) On the home page of the SuPM application goto Role Assignment

You need to assign the user as the RRL ( Regional Reporting Lead ) in the below screen This will give him the authorization to create edit KPIrsquos
