Supervisor Water Resource Management The Authority seeks to recruit a suitably qualified person to take up the role of Supervisor Water Resource Management to be based at its Lautoka Depot and will be reporting directly to the Team Leader Water Resource Management. PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE The Supervisor’s primary role involves active supervision of the organization’s values and vision encouraging them to lead a culture of continuous development and swift improvement by Supervising and monitoring all water sources and each catchment using hydrological equipment for the effective and reliable water service. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Effective Leadership and motivation to produce consistent and up to date water source status information. Assisting in preparing a regional budget, monitoring progress against that budget; Implement Planning programs for water source monitoring operation and maintenances, workforce, tools & machinery. Efficient and effective delivery of raw water to pump station. Priorities task daily according to financial risk or gain for WAF. Ensure the effective and efficient use of hydrological equipments for monitoring of existing and propose water sources. Ensure that water source environment, work procedures, work personal are OHS compliant. Develop monitoring programs on new potential gravity sources and planned preventative maintenance for all hydrological equipments and stations. Analyze and compile Hydrological data ensuring accuracy, relevant and timely delivery of reports to Team Leader Water Resource Management Unit. Investigate, assess & provide estimate for telemetry stations upgrading works and new stations. Initiate the request of materials by raising requisition and coordinating with stores on purchasing & timely delivery. Assist Team Leader Water Resource Management Unit in preparation of OPEX and PSIP budget. Perform research and proposals on innovative water source monitoring technologies & new methodologies that are applicable to WAF operations. Perform on job training, conduct performance improvement discussions or initiate disciplinary procedures for poor work performances. Assisting in the formulation, development and implementation of operational plans for the respective

regions.

Responsible to plan and implement, and effectively and efficiently lead a team for the implementation of

daily operation and maintenance activities to ensure the provision of sustainable water sources is maintain

throughout each regions.

Responsible to carry out work according to set policies and procedures of WAF, MOL, MOH and WMO.

Monitor water source monitoring request during the day.

Ensuring the Inventory from Suppliers are in accordance to the required Standards

Providing Administrative Support to the Team Leader to administering the Unit clerical requirements and

report on progress.

Responsible to monitor and evaluate staff and performance

Responsible for providing transportation to Technical Officers required completing the Daily Operations and

maintenance works.

Responsible to communicate all correspondence for the unit with other departments and stakeholders

Provide every weekly reporting of water source status

Overview and Check all the administration data received from Technical Officers, Service Technicians and

Technical Assistance are complete and accurate.

Responsible for accurately capturing of Timesheets and Timings within the unit.

Implementing correct OHS practices, meeting quality assurance targets with effective coordination with

other stakeholders as per SOPs developed.

Responsible for monitoring and recording of all WAF assets given to Sub ordinates.

Carry out any other duties assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

Monitoring of all water sources and each catchment using hydrological equipments for the effective and

reliable water service.

Developing and monitoring programs on new potential gravity sources and planned preventative

maintenance for all hydrological equipments and stations.

Controlling and improve hydrological gauging equipments and automated stations

Ensure the proper hydrological data is captured properly.

Monitoring Water Sources and ensuring the level is not below critical level.

Analyze and compile Hydrological data by ensuring accuracy, relevant and timely delivery of reports to

Team Leader Water Resource Management Unit.

Ensure to Control and improve hydrological gauging equipments and automated stations.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Diploma in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Electronic & Electrical, Network Engineering

Trade Certificates in Civil Engineering, Electronic & Electrical, Network Engineering

At least four years’ relevant experience or have Supervisory experience in Hydrology Operations or water

operations

Water Fitters License (optional)

Group 6 Drivers License (optional)

REMUNERATIONRemuneration will be commensurate with relevant qualifications and experiences
