OUR STORY

In 2002, MobileNet Services was established in Southern California to provide superior quality Radio Frequency (RF) engineering services and solutions for its clients in the emerging market of wireless telecom. Today, MobileNet Services is a leader in RF optimization support and RF turnkey project management with offices in Southern California, Texas, and Rio de Janeiro-Brazil. Recognized for superior quality and integrity, MobileNet has worked with wireless communications industry operators and equipment providers such as Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, Sprint, Ericsson, Nokia, and Alcatel-Lucent as they rollout the next page in mobile network development, 4G LTE.

Our headquarters in Irvine, California employs more than 150 engineers, technicians and associates throughout MobileNet’s multiple divisional groups: GSM/UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/LTE, CDMA/EVDO/LTE, Network Integration, Drive Testing/Data Collection, Tools Development, Project Management and Staff Augmentation. Along with national project support, our headquarters hold trainings in our state-of-the-art training facility, and houses our HR department.

With a strong hold on the evolving wireless technology, MobileNet’s expertise is in the migration of new site roll-outs, carrier-additions, frequency re-banding, RNC re-homes, eNodeB hot swaps and KPI improvements. Our strength is in our engineers and project leads that have real world engineering experience in Parameter Audits, KPI Reporting, Neighbor List Tuning, Mechanical Down-tilt Tuning, Pre-Launch Post-Processing & Optimization, Drive Testing & System Performance, Network Integration, and In-Building DAS Testing.

RF OPTIMIZATION

Proficient data collection and analysis are critical elements for cost-effective network optimization. MobileNet engineers have the expertise to provide reporting on pre-launch tuning, cluster analysis, KPI monitoring and post launch tuning. Maintaining a broad spectrum of RF services allows MobileNet turn-key project leads and managers to utilize internal resources on identifying potential network faults and resolving them for the most efficient spectrum use providing our customer quality performance in their network.

PRE LAUNCH OPTIMIZATION

To validate site configurations for pre-launch tuning, parameter and neighbor list audits are performed and combined with drive test data analysis to identify quality issues and provide recommendation reports on electrical or mechanical antenna tilts, antenna height adjustments, and antenna reorientation.

POST LAUNCH OPTIMIZATION

MobileNet’s team can deliver continuous radio network measurement and analysis reporting with parameter adjustment reports, coverage analysis, and capacity analysis reporting for post verification and site acceptance. Meeting our customer’s performance targets and finding effective fault resolutions through process development, functionality assessments and configuration management is how MobileNet Services propelled itself to the forefront of its industry.

RNC RE-HOMING

With increased traffic and data rich multimedia services, wireless carrier operators can experience network congestion and uneven load distribution across RNCs or BSCs. Re-homing is a network optimization technique used by wireless operators that re-distributes and re-configures traffic and routing to improve (QoS) Quality of Service and saves the carriers’ OPEX and CAPEX on their core networks.

MobileNet Services has confidently managed various turn-key rehoming projects for BSCs and RNCs on both technologies GSM/UMTS and CDMA/EVDO along with LTE. In our turn-key approach, drive test teams will be trained, prepped, and managed by our experienced MobileNet senior engineers. Our experience and integrity offers our customers assurance in the deliverance of a successful rehome.

BENCHMARKING

Comparing network performance to industry standards allows for customers to make better decisions on improvements and developments. MobileNet Services can perform CW testing and RF surveys to offer a comprehensive view of the customer’s network against their competitors.

RF DESIGN

Our engineers have the capabilities to plan and design a wireless network providing high-quality engineering services to customers. Serving as a market lead or customer interface, our teams have experience in collecting all the design data, including market site database, geographical information, design assumptions, service expectation, antenna type and regulatory data. A model can be developed based on continuous wave (CW) drive tests. Traffic maps, run predictions and simulations can be produced along with RF Data sheet (RFDS) for site implementation and construction.

KPI IMPROVEMENTS

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are indications of network performance and clearly describe the experience of the end user. Continuous KPI monitoring is needed to ensure efficient network utilization to meet targeted QoS (Quality of Service) values. Reporting templates have been developed and automated by MobileNet engineers to provide KPI reports detailing call quality performance, handover zones, interference regions, and poor coverage regions.

DRIVE TEST DATA COLLECTION & POST PROCESSING

MobileNet Services has a dedicated team of engineers, technicians and drivers in field locations across the country supporting carrier projects. MobileNet has the ability to provide our own TEMS and JDSU kits, determine kit and device compatibility, troubleshoot equipment and has the ability to configure various testing scenarios per device based on technology, band or frequency locking requirements, ping testing options and CSFB testing options.

MobileNet has a fleet of vehicles nationwide dedicated to Drive Testing, Site Shakedowns and Pre & Post Launch Optimization drives. Our engineers and technicians’ expertise include using multiple data collection tools such as TEMS, JDSU, DataPro DM, Xcal, QXDM and NEMO across all technologies: CDMA, EVDO, GSM, UMTS, LTE and VoLTE.

Post processing engineers work closely with In-Building DAS data collection and drive testing teams to ensure accuracy of the data being collected with real time support. Tailored event analysis and venue summary reports are generated through Actix and Windcatcher to provide detailed metrics analysis.

LOCATION BASED EMERGENCY SERVICES COMPLIANCE TESTING

Being compliant with Federal regulations regarding Emergency Service Calls (E-911) over the wireless networks is a major task realized by all carriers in the United States. To this end, MobileNet is able to provide precise and reliable end-to-end testing of GPS based end user location identification from the carrier’s wireless network. MobileNet is able to verify that the accuracy of the location information being reported from each and every cell site to the Public Safety Answer Point (PSAP) or Emergency call centers is within compliance limits. Our compliance verification services include project management, PSAP scheduling and liaison for live and simulated test calls, and field team coordination during tests.

IN-BUILDING DAS OPTIMIZATION

MobileNet Services has completed In-Building DAS walk testing for several hundred high profile venues which include Disneyland, Caesar’s Palace-Las Vegas, Los Angeles Staple Center, Norte Dame University, Indianapolis Airport, and Dallas Cowboy Stadium. Backpack solutions combining test phones, frequency scanners and batteries have been designed by MobileNet engineers to increase mobility throughout a venue and decrease onsite hours for our customers.

MobileNet has the ability to use predetermined antenna locations to create optimal walk routes using Geocoding for outdoor venues and provide node/sector functionality confi rmation with DAS zone to SC/PCI validation and DAS to Macro handoff testing. Stationary Tests are performed against several SCs at a single transmitter.

NETWORK COMMISSIONING AND INTEGRATION

To assist with the demand and capacity needs of our customers, MobileNet Services has built a team to provide dedicated and attentive support for Network Integration of LTE networks. Our expertise is derived from recent experience providing in-house engineers for integration projects, such as Carrier Additions, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) of new cell site deployment, IPBH conversions of legacy T1 sites over to Ethernet backhaul and BSC Cell ID Rehomes.

Our Network Integration team provides real time 24-hour reporting and trouble shooting at all levels of the integration cycle. This offers our customers speedy resolutions that decrease down time and limits network interruptions. THE BEST IN RF OPTIMIZATION

As globalized communication grows, consumers will be expecting low latency and high speeds on their smart phones and tablets with reliable coverage and service. Our experienced drive test teams have been trained to provide consistent and accurate data for optimal system performance. To assure our customer’s network standards are met, MobileNet engineers utilize drive test data to identify problem areas through coverage, capacity and interference analysis and traffic analysis to eliminated bottlenecks. Continuous KPI monitoring is needed to identify the root cause of network degradation and ensure efficient network utilization to meet targeted QoS (Quality of Service) values. Reporting templates have been developed and automated by MobileNet’s software/tools development group to provide KPI reports detailing call quality performance, handover zones, interference regions, and poor coverage regions. MOBILENET IS READY FOR THE FUTURE MOBILENET’S EXPOSURE AND EXPERIENCE IN LTE, VOLTE, SMALL CELL AND DAS EQUIPMENT OFFER OUR CUSTOMERS A RELIABLE KNOWLEDGE BASE FOR THEIR FUTURE ROLLOUT OF NETWORK SERVICES. Our team has completed LTE and VoLTE data collection and drive testing in multiple metropolitan markets, such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Experienced using TEMS, JDSU, QXDM and Nemo, our engineers and technicians can set up, configure and trouble-shoot equipment issues quickly to minimize schedule delays. Drive routes can be created based on coverage expectations with call and data testing scenarios based on customer requirements.

Providing 3G and 4G LTE coverage and capacity to public hot spots such as hotels, stadiums, and airports can be problematic. In-building DAS (distributed antenna systems) offers a solution to enhance the existing macro layer with low powered nodes. The amalgamation of the macrocellular network with DAS networks and various small-cell solutions has been coined the “heterogeneous network” (or HetNet for short).

END-TO-END SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT

MobileNet Services has developed a business organization with the infrastructure and capabili-ties to support turnkey deployment with end-to-end analysis. Data Collection technicians and engineers are trained to capture various testing scenarios maintaining MobileNet’s standard to provide superior data and consistent quality. Effective event analysis and reporting allow our customer to increase productivity and performance by identifying network faults to optimize capacity issues. Reports and summaries can be customized with detailed metrics analysis for quick resolutions. Maintaining high level engineers in-house has allowed MobileNet to managed turn-key projects across the United States, using MobileNet managers to coordinate teams, manage customer deliverables, provide market status reports and be responsible for the rise in market KPIs.

All of MobileNet’s managers have worked for global operators or North American wireless carriers such as Nortel Networks, Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, AT&T, Sprint or Verizon Wireless prior to joining our team.
