Our rapid expansion across Europe means our demand for high calibre talent is ever increasing. Assuch, we now have a need to take on a small number of interns across our European Business. Ourinternship is like no other in that you will take on real responsibility from day one and there really are nolimits to what you can achieve. We foster an environment in which anyone can make changes, take onprojects and truly make a difference to business success. But, you need to be the sort of person whocan make things happen for yourself, you will not have your hand held within Tesla; so if this is youthen you are the person for us. We need self-starting interns who can make their own way within somechallenging and ever changing business environments.
The Role
Building our Supercharger network is vital to our success, making driving electric vehicles more andmore accessible to a wider audience. Our Supercharger network is expanding across Europe and sotoo is our Supercharger Team. This team manages everything from the planning and mapping offuture Supercharger stations, to their installation and construction. They operate in a complexenvironment dealing with the whole process; country mapping, identifying potential sites, assessingtheir viability, negotiating contracts, site development and construction through to marketing andopening the site.
The role will involve supporting the team achieve its targets by being the central coordinator for allteam activities. We need individuals who are able to operate in a highly complex environmentmanaging the diverse activities. These roles are generally most suited to technically minded studentswho are able to design or adapt tools and systems to help in planning and scheduling of work. You willgain exposure to many different functions and be able to see first-hand how they operate to bringabout Tesla’s success.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Supporting the Supercharger team in the delivery of the full lifecycle of Supercharger site development
and installation, including site diligence and obtaining key buy-in from stakeholders range from site
owners to grid operators to permitting authorities.
Acting as the nerve centre coordinating team activities, and planning workflows.
Learning in detail the processes involved in planning and implementing never seen before projects
throughout your region.
Communicating outside of the team to other functions within the business, detailing key deadlines and
ensuring work stays on track.
Supporting external communications regarding contract negotiations, supporting marketing and ribbon
cutting events for the sites that are developed.
Devising and adapting tools to manage all elements of team activities and workflow.
Additional projects may be possible during your internship within this function.
Requirements
You must be studying your degree which could be in a variety of subjects. Students who have been
most successful in the role have come from one of the following areas of study: Computer Science,
Logistics or Project Management, Finance or Economics, Manufacturing Engineering. But we would
welcome applications from other study areas.
You will also be able to take on the role for at least a 6 month period from September / October 2015.
You will be a strategic thinker who is able to operate in a complex environment, and balance priorities
effectively.
You will be technically minded and able to solve challenging problems with minimal supervision.
You will need to have a flexible approach to work and a 'can do' attitude.
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
Possess drive, enthusiasm and a genuine interest and curiosity in the business.
Strong command of English required. Fluency in a relevant European Language is not essential but
extremely beneficial
The responsibilities within the internship may change over time—this role requires flexibility and the
ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the project and the organization. There will be further career
opportunities based on performance and interest.
