EASTER OFFERING

SABC GOAL: $28,000

CHALLENGE GOAL: $35,000

TOTAL GIVEN

AS OF MARCH 26: $ 8,405

NEW MESSAGING SYSTEM

We have started using “One Call Now” to send important messages to our resident members. You have the option to receive messages from SABC by means of a text message, voice message or email. If you will be receiving text messages, text the word ALERT (all caps) to the number 22300 and you will be signed up and ready to go. Please note that if you are charged for texts based on your cell phone plan you will probably want to use a different form of communication (voicemail on your home phone or email). Also, if there is any doubt whether or not the church has your contact information, please email Carol Collie at [email protected]. We need to know which form of communication you would like to use. Only one number/email per person. This service is for our resident SABC members. Any questions? Please call Steve Roberson or Carol Collie. This process will allow us to save money as we move from a weekly newsletter to a monthly newsletter beginning the month of April.

CHRIST C.A.N. OFFERING

APRIL 30 An offering will be received at the conclusion of

the 8:30 & 11:00 worship services for Christ C.A.N. Please make checks payable to Sunset

Avenue Baptist Church and designate “C-C.A.N.” on your checks/envelopes.

From the Pastor… This issue marks the transition for us to a monthly newsletter. As April approaches, I thought I’d highlight a few significant things coming up this month.

Obviously, Easter is first. I hope you’re planning to attend the annual Sunrise Service (here at SABC). I’m certain Brandon Dees will bring us a strong message from God. After breakfast, remember that there will be no 8:30 service or nightly service. In a related activity, I look forward to our choir leading us in worship on the night of April 9 at 6:00. I pray the resurrection season will be truly meaningful for us this year.

Second, we’ll be celebrating baptism on April 9 at the 11:00 service (no 8:30 service so that everyone can participate together). We have several candidates who will be following the Lord in believer’s baptism. It’s always an exciting time to see how God is working. Please plan to bring food and be a part of our celebration lunch that day.

Third, at our quarterly conference on Wednesday night the 19th, we’ll be bringing a couple of motions related to our missions work. You’ll be hearing more about this, but we’ll be presenting a proposal to expand our Chinese ministry here in Rocky Mount and also a proposal to form a 3 – 5 year partnership with a church in Ecuador. I’m excited that we continue to push outward in our efforts to advance Christ’s kingdom. Also, don’t forget we’ll receive the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering through the end of April.

Finally, I’m really excited about a Sunday morning sermon series I’ll be starting in late April. I’m going to bring seven messages this spring on the topic of heaven. The preparation so far has been an exciting thing for me. I’m hoping that you will be thrilled and encouraged as we study together some of the wonderful realities of our coming eternal home. I hope you’ll plan to be a part of these messages.

With so much going on, God help us all to remember that the “basics” of our faith never change. The main thing is not activity, as important as service is. Instead, we are to be disciples who are sold out to the divine purposes of Loving the Lord…Loving the Church…Loving the World. May the truth that Jesus is alive stir us to pursue Him with passion.

I’m so thankful to be your pastor. I love the wonderful people who make up the Sunset Avenue Baptist Church.

Yours and His,

Pastor Robin
