OLD TESTAMENT READING Exodus 15:22-27 (NKJV)
22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea; then they
went out into the Wilderness of Shur. And they went
three days in the wilderness and found
no water. 23 Now when they came to Marah, they could
not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter.
Therefore the name of it was called Marah. 24 And the
people complained against Moses, saying, “What shall
we drink?” 25 So he cried out to the Lord, and
the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the
waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a
statute and an ordinance for them, and there He test-
ed them, 26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice
of the Lord your God and do what is right in His
sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His
statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I
have brought on the Egyptians. For
I am the Lord who heals you.” 27 Then they came to
Elim, where there were twelve wells of water and sev-
enty palm trees; so they camped there by the waters.

NEW TESTAMENT READING Hebrews 6:7-12 (NKJV)
7 For the earth which drinks in the rain that often
comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by
whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from
God; 8 but if it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected
and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.
9 But, beloved, we are confident of better things
concerning you, yes, things that accompany
salvation, though we speak in this
manner. 10 For God is not unjust to forget your work
and labor of love which you have shown toward His
name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and
do minister. 11 And we desire that each one of you
show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope
until the end, 12 that you do not become sluggish, but
imitate those who through faith and patience inherit
the promises.

CHURCH COVENANT LEADER: Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the LORD Jesus Christ as our Savior; and on the profession of our faith we do now in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully renew this covenant with one another as one body in Christ. CONG: We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge and holiness; to give it a place in our affections, prayers and services above every other organization of human origin. LEADER: To contribute cheerfully and regularly as God has prospered us, toward the support of the ministry, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world. CONG: We also engage to maintain family and secret devotion; to study the word of God; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintance. LEADER: To walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our service. CONG: We further engage to watch over, to pray for, to exhort each other unto every good word and work; to guard each other’s reputation, not needlessly exposing the infirmities of others; to participate in each other’s joys, bear one another’s sorrows; and to cultivate Christian courtesy; LEADER: To be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, being mindful of the rules of the Savior to secure it without delay. ALL: When we remove from this place, we engage as soon as possible to unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s word.

Jesus, the Light of the World
Hark! The herald angels sing,
Jesus, the Light of the world;
Glory to the new-born king,
Jesus, the light of the world.
Chorus
We’ll walk in the light, beautiful light,
Come where the dew-drops of mercy are bright,
Shine all around us by day and by night,
Jesus, the Light of the world.
Joyful, all ye nations, rise,
Jesus, the light of the world;
Join the triumph of the skies,
Jesus, the Light of the world.
Christ, by highest heav’n adored,
Jesus, the Light of the world;
Christ, the ever-lasting Lord,
Jesus, the Light of the world.
Hail the heav’n-born Prince of peace!
Jesus, the Light of the world;
Hail the Son of righteous-ness!
Jesus, the Light of the world.

Special Giving Above Tithe and Offering
Every Christian should strive to learn how to be a cheerful giver. When we give what does it actually mean? It simply means we cheerfully give back to God our tithes and offerings.
