PASTOR’S SCHEDULE
Pastor Tim will be out of town September 28th – October 5th.
Rev. Karen Wilhelm will lead us in worship on Sunday,
I wanted to take a moment and express my appreciation for the congregation’s sustained patience and
understanding as we continue our church musician search. As you are undoubtedly aware, we have tried
out a couple of different options, some of which are less traditional than others, but we continue to find a
way to create a meaningful and complete worship experience each Sunday.
I also feel it is important to thank Ken, Lisa, and Kaia for their willingness to fill in during this time of
transition. It takes a commitment of time to prepare oneself to play each week, and that effort put forth
is not taken for granted. With that, we are confident that God will send us the right person to
permanently fill this important role within the church. Additional information will be shared as it is

ALC Adopts a New Chaplain!
Our first adopted chaplain, Captain Joe
Reffner, has completed his deployment and is
happily heading home to his wife and five
children in North Carolina.
Joe received the 26 boxes of supplies that we
sent and was extremely thankful for our
generosity. He commented on how much the
troops appreciated the items that were sent, all
of which are considered luxuries in Iraq.
Captain Johnathan Court, our new adoptee,
is replacing Joe as chaplain for the troops in
Taji on the outskirts of Baghdad.
Johnathan has a wife, Alyssa, and young
daughter, Grace, who are originally from
California, but currently stationed at Fort
Bliss, Texas.
We will continue to collect items and send
them on to Johnathan to disburse to the troops
he serves at several bases in Iraq.
Please place your donations in the box in the
fellowship hall and show your support for our
military men and women who are sacrificing
so much for us.
And please keep Johnathan, his family and our
troops around the world in your prayers.
Thank you!

Chrysalis School starts their school year with Pastor Holt at our weekly
Chapel Time.
Why do we do Chapel Time at Chrysalis?
Each week, throughout the school year, we have a bible lesson, sing
songs, and have a prayer at our Chapel Time. This special time gives us a
chance to expose our young students to church and the word of God on a regular basis. They will learn that
Jesus loves them no matter what and it teaches them to love Jesus and
each other. What better way to start our school year!
The school and its families are donating a “Preschool Fun and
Learning” themed basket for the Fall Festival. It will have a registration
coupon for next school year, a Chrysalis logo t-shirt, and several
books from Scholastic Book Clubs. We will also fill the basket with donations
of fun and educational things for a preschooler to do. Look for it at the
Fall Festival!
We have several spots open! Contact Renee Wallace for more information.

Dear Family and Friends,
In honor of my mom, Mary Ann Weber,
and my brother, Jesse Amando Ramirez,
who have both lost their life to suicide, I
have created Team L;ve. Through this
walk I hope to honor ALL those we have
lost to suicide, help heal each others
hearts, and fund research, education and
prevention initiatives.
The semicolon in Team L;ve was inspired
by Project Semicolon. Project
Semicolon is a faith-based non-profit
movement dedicated to presenting hope
and love to those who are struggling with
suicide.
"A semicolon represents a sentence the author
could have ended, but chose not to. The
sentence is your life and the author is you." -
Project Semicolon
The American Foundation for Suicide
Prevention walk will be a 3-5 mile walk

Park in the Woodlands, TX. Check-in
