This is a challenge to care for the world and be stewards of all that God has given us. Like generations before us, we are entrusted with the care of the earth so that generations to follow may enjoy the same gifts. Sometimes, however, we are absorbed into the ways of the world. When we are of the world, we rely heavily on the power of wealth, beauty, fame, and accumulation of material possessions. We want earthly possessions and carelessly turn our hearts from the responsibilities of stewardship and conservation. The readings today challenge us to walk away from the world so that we might inherit our share of God’s kingdom. How we live our lives directly reϐlects our love for God.

Thanksgiving Mass

Each year, an inspiring Thanksgiving Mass is celebrated at 8:00AM on Thanksgiving morning at St. Bridget Church. It is a wonderful Mass and we encourage you to attend. Students from kindergarten through 3rd grade are asked to take a special part in this Mass by dressing up as a Pilgrim or a Native American and participating in the opening procession. We have a limited number of costumes available at the rectory for those who would like to participate.

If your child would like to be a Pilgrim or Native American, please contact Kim DeMeo with your c h i l d ' s n a m e a n d g r a d e a t [email protected]. Those who participate will need to sign out a costume at the rectory and arrive at the church in costume by 7:45AM on Thanksgiving morning.

In addition we are looking for a few parents to help with the children on Thanksgiving morning. If you are available, please let us know.
