“The Rewards of Unconditional Love and How to Receive Them”

As a student of life for 74 years, it is not so important what titles I have achieved as the rewards of the fruits they produced. Unconditional love is no more a force in time space than it is in a game of chess or football---rules define life in games and unconditional love doesn't recognize rules. Shape shift your thoughts into unconditional love. Everything in the universe is connected through thought and the greatest of these is forgiveness. In "Wisdom of The Ages" Wayne Dyer stood on his father's grave as he had an awakening. "My father was a white old man but if I ever cursed my white old man

I take my curses back." In an act of true forgiveness he walked away a free spirit, a free man and never looked back. He had just reaped the rewards of true forgiveness from a man he had never met. Meditator ~ Teresa Collado

Sunday, November 17 ~ Gary Conrad

"Oklahoma Is Where I Live"

Description and Bio: Oklahoma Is Where I live: and Other Things on My Mind is an autobiographical collection of memoirs in short story form, mostly nonfiction, from the author of the award-winning visionary novel, The Lhasa Trilogy. Storytelling is an Oklahoma tradition, dating back to a Native American past. Like any true Okie, it is in Gary Conrad's roots to tell his story--the ups, the downs, the in betweens.

He lives with his wife, Sheridan, and their dog, Inky, in Edmond. His interests include Tibetan rights, meditation, the music of Joseph Haydn, organic gardening and wilderness hiking. A recent interview with Gary can be viewed at http://bit.ly/18g3aV4 (His interview begins at the 19:30 mark.) and his website is www.GaryDConrad.com where you can check out his new book in advance.

Meditator ~ Sara McFall

Sunday, November 24 ~ Jim Norman

Drumming Circle

Jim Norman M.Ed, LPC, HTP began a new spiritual journey with the gift of a book introducing him to the ways of the "red path." This has inspired a number of interests, areas of study and spiritual practices. Part of this journey has included the development of a monthly healing drumming circle now ongoing for about 4 years. Jim and his wife, Lyn, reside in Edmond where Jim has a private practice in counseling and energy medicine. Mitakuye Oyasin Jim’s understanding is drumming was/is a way to connect with Spirit asking blessing and giving thanks. Come for drumming and discussion of Native American spiritual gifts to the colonizers. Numerous drums and percussion instruments will be available for use at Morning Star. Bring your favorite drum for yourself and any extra drums you have to share during our circle of blessing and thanks.

Meditator ~ Katrina Boyd

MORNING STAR CHILDREN’S PROGRAM

The Morning Star Children’s program begins at 10 AM each Sunday. Doors open at 9:45.

It is a place for children to spend time together playing games, doing arts and crafts, and

being exposed to stories and books with themes such as virtuous actions, forgiveness,

compassion, mindfulness, etc. If you would like more information regarding the

children’s program please see Tori Rose or Sacra Nicholas.

SPIRITUAL CINEMA NIGHT

Friday, November 15th, 7:30 p.m.

Normal (Jane Anderson, 2003) 110 min.

Normal is a surprising film on many levels. Tom Wilkinson and Jessica Lange give outstanding performances as Roy and Irma Applewood, a couple living seemingly simple lives in the upper Midwest. When Irma realizes Roy is struggling with some kind of mid-life crisis she encourages him to seek help with their local pastor, but when Roy finally reveals the source of his suffering—that he has always felt he was a woman trapped in a man’s body and now wants a sex-change operation—no one is prepared for the consequences. Avoiding sensationalism and trivialization, the film provides a sensitive portrayal of a complex topic with touches of humor, large doses of compassion and intriguing thoughts on unconditional love.
