Tuesday 2

We rejoice in the joy of having our people maintaining contacts and attendance of services via livestreaming using ZOOM. Four other meetings are conducted weekly with encouraging participation.

Wednesday 3

We are hopeful of returning to the church and worship in our space and to see life returning to normalcy for all the people.

Thursday 4

We seek God’s intervention for our depleting financial resources, as this ultimately affects our budget. Jobs are insecure for our members especially due to the Covid - 19 pandemic.

Friday 5

The future is uncertain. We pray for our parishioners to remain positive, committed, and dedicated amidst current challenges.

Saturday 6

Heavenly Father, we are delighted to experience your love. Give us hope and trust in you amid challenges we encounter as a parish. Sunday 7 June

Trinity Sunday Those being confirmed: Pray for all considering or preparing for Confirmation, that the Spirit will guide them.

Limassol – St Barnabas: Limassol is the principal port of Cyprus and a vibrant cosmopolitan city. Pissouri is a village with significant tourism and many second homes. We have wealth and poverty around us and among us. British military bases are nearby. We serve British expats and other English speakers from a fascinating variety of nations, countries and cultures.

Monday 8

We praise God for our faithfulness and continuance in prayer and worship in recent difficult times and for the deepening of our solidarity and Christian fellowship. We pray that our parish vision will guide us in coming months as we seek a new priest to lead us forward in mission: Glorify God, Open doors, Share faith, Proclaim Jesus, Encourage all, Love others.

Tuesday 9

We celebrate the rich diversity of these churches, the gifts of young and old, the spectrum of cultures, nationalities and traditions. We rejoice in our rich fellowship and social life, and in opportunities to learn together and deepen our spirituality.

Wednesday 10

We pray for openness to God and for alertness to needs around us. We pray for a renewal of our ministry and outreach to children, young people and families. We pray for the Missions to Seafarers based at Limassol port.

Thursday 11

We intercede for all who struggle in this city and its environs, including the homeless and refugee, the bereaved and lonely, the stressed and the seeking. We pray for deep healing of the wounds, spiritual and emotional, that recent months have brought.

Friday 12

Recalling that Acts 15:26 describes Barnabas as one who ‘risked his life for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ’, we pray for courage, steadfastness and imagination as we move forward under God.

Saturday 13

Father God, unlock the gifts you have placed within us, release fresh ministries and hidden talents, deepen our apostolic charism of bringing the encouragement of Jesus to all we meet, for the sake of your Kingdom, Amen.

Sunday 14 June

Trinity 1 The Archdeacon in Cyprus: Pray for Archdeacon Christopher and for justice, compassion, and peace across the island.

Abu Dhabi: St Andrew is a compound based in Abu Dhabi with a daughter Church in Al Ain, called St Thomas. We have recently celebrated our 50th anniversary. We seek to provide Christians of all traditions a safe and legal environment to worship.

Monday 15

We give thanks for the ongoing ministry of our thrift centre outreach, providing provisions through food vouchers, parcels and clothing for those in desperate need. We praise God for those who are able to continue giving financially and physically during this time of crisis.

Tuesday 16

We thank God for the new and innovative ways we have been able to continue to minister and be ‘Church’ in Abu Dhabi during this time.

Wednesday 17

We are concerned and pray for the implications that this crisis will have on the wider community and our Church family: praying for Godly wisdom and openness to change as we move forward.

Thursday 18

We pray for God’s continued guidance as we seek funding to complete the Mussafah Church project.

Friday 19

We pray for all those who have been significantly affected during this crisis in our community – in particular, the vulnerable, the sick, the frail, the fearful and those who mourn.

Saturday 20

Merciful God, during this time may St Andrew’s Church be a sign of hope, comfort and love to all. Grant peace, grant comfort, grant healing. Be with us Lord. Amen.

Sunday 21 June

Trinity 2 The Archdeacon in the Gulf: Pray for Archdeacon Bill, the nations of the Gulf, and especially Bahrain where he is the Dean.

Al Ain: St Thomas Church is supported by St Andrew's, Abu Dhabi. We currently worship at a golf club, but have been gifted land by the ruling family to build on. We are from many backgrounds and nations, but we are united in our desire to see Christ lifted up amongst us and to help more people experience the joy of knowing Jesus.

Monday 22

St Thomas has a friendly atmosphere. After the services, people share fellowship and are usually not in a rush to go home. We are especially blessed with a varied and gifted music group who lead the congregation in musical worship each week.

Tuesday 23

We are thankful that we have been able to worship in the Golf Club for the last 8 years, but are excited at the prospect of worshipping in our own building soon. We have a growing ministry towards the low paid migrant workers in Al Ain.

Wednesday 24

St Thomas is progressing with its building project. The next few months should see the project move towards the construction phase. We pray for continued blessings on this project.

Thursday 25

Our congregation is made up mostly of teachers and health professionals. Long working hours can mean that people become inconsistent in church attendance. Pray that the services may always be a place of spiritual refreshment, so that people do therefore make it a priority to attend.

Friday 26

As we move forward with our New Build we are keen to ensure that we retain all that is good with St Thomas and that we continue to be a nurturing, friendly, welcoming church, where people of all ages find a spiritual home and experience the love of God.

Saturday 27

Council: May they be given wisdom to lead the church forward. Community: May we experience the joy and peace of knowing Jesus amongst us. Church Building: May the project move forward smoothly, and may we never lose sight of the fact that church is people, not a building, and that we are here to glorify God and be the hands and feet of Jesus in the local community and beyond.

God our Father in heaven, we thank you for the care of the congregation during a challenging time. For the pastoral care, love and support to one another – especially those sick or without money, and food. We pray for our young people. In the power of the Holy Spirit may the seed of the Gospel be planted in their hearts and may they always love and worship you.

Tuesday 30

We rejoice, O Lord, in the love and fellowship we share with our brothers and sisters from around the world, especially those who worship week by week and in the work with refugees and all those in need. May our joyful celebrations bear the light of Christ to all people.

Wednesday 1

O Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who came to heal the world. We pray for healing in mind, body, and spirit as we try to move forward from this pandemic. We pray for ourselves and our loved ones as we start to meet, greet and re-build our lives, and for peace around your beautiful world.

We give thanks for so much. We pray that we may face the financial challenges presented to us. That we may continue to give with a generous heart in response to the generosity of God. We pray for those who have lost everything, that even in their darkness they may feel your light.

Friday 3

We pray for the struggles that many face in Nicosia, those sleeping rough in the parks, those camping in Refugee Centres; those arriving from foreign shores; those who for whatever reason are finding life very difficult. We give thanks that the Cathedral can be a place of peace and help. Help us all to be better disciples to take care of your children.

Saturday 4

God, we lift up to you all the ministries in this Cathedral and ask for your blessing and guidance to be poured upon them in their various activities. Eternal God, the light of the minds that know you, the joy of the hearts that love you, the strength of the wills that serve you that they may truly love you, so to love you that they may freely serve you, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.
