On summer hiatus the choir takes a break from weekly Sunday rehearsals, and so will sing fewer Sunday Divine Liturgies (DLs) than during the rest of the year. This summer’s choral DL schedule: 18 Aug, 9:00am Choral DL (Eng) Love to sing? Then the church choir wants YOU! This summer the choir will be learning some new music, so this is a great time to come check things out. No auditions - you'll get a choral binder (all Ukrainian texts include transliteration, so reading Cyrillic is not required), take a seat, and see how things go! During the summer reduced schedule, the choir does not rehearse every Sundays, but instead convenes on some weeknights to learn new pieces and refine familiar ones. All are invited to join Archbishop Borys for a Pilgrimage at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Centralia, Pa. on Sunday, August 25. The pilgrimage begins at 12:00 noon with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy. Reflection and the praying of a Living Rosary at 2:30 PM before the historic and jeweled 18th century copy of the Icon of Our Lady of Pochaiv. At 3:30 PM Akafist to the Mother of God will be sung. At 5:00 PM a candlelight procession to the church for the celebration of a Moleben to the Mother of God. At the conclusion of the Moleben, prayers for healing and the anointing with holy oils for the healing of soul and body will take place. Confessions will be available throughout the day at various locations on the church grounds. There will be religious goods for sale, which will be blessed at the conclusion of the Living Rosary in the outdoor chapel. Food service will be provided from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
