Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing women
«When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene,who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you”.

It is with great sadness that we tell you that Father Maxim Kobasuk, OSBM passed away. Father Max was Pastor and Superior of Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church and Administrator of Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Schools from 1989 to 1997. Father Maxim Kobasuk was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1949. He entered the Basilian Fathers Novitiate, in Glen Cove NY in 1970, He was ordained to the Priesthood at Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catho-lic Church in Hamtramck, MI on September 18, 1977. Father Maxim Passed away on April 5, 2016, after a courageous fight with his illness (leukemia), in Stanford, Connecticut. We ask you to pray for the late Father Maxim
Kobasuk, OSBM. We will provide details about Father’s Max funeral as soon as they are available. There will be a special memorial Divine Liturgy at our Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Schools' Chapel this coming Friday, April 8 at 8:00 am. (29500 Westbrook, Warren MI,) you are welcome to attend.

IC Church Restoration
We are celebrating the Centennial of Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Parish. The cornerstone of our first Church in Hamtramck was blessed on December 25, 1913, and the building was completed and blessed in 1914. Therefore, it is fitting for us to celebrate this very important milestone of our Ukraini-an-America Community in 2014. To preserve Immaculate Concep-tion Ukrainian Catholic Church, its beautiful icons, murals, paintings, and the artistry of Mr. Mychajlo Dmytrenko is the responsibility of our Parishioners and our Detroit Ukrainian-American community. Working together, we will secure our beautiful Church for future generations. Here they will be bap-tized, have their first communion, have their marriage blessed, and receive their final blessing at the time appointed by God. At this time, we are reinitiating the fundraising campaign for the Third Phase of the IC Church restoration project. We ask you to once again be zealous and generous
in your donations. The estimated cost of this next phase is $175,000. It is a significant cost. As was the case with the first phase of this project, it is achievable if we all do our part. We ask you to consider making another effort, another sacrifice, and help us restore our beautiful Church. This will help to preserve a historic place of worship for future generations of Ukrainian-American families in the metropolitan Detroit area.
