Parish & Local News 3 • The Faithful are dispensed from Sunday Mass obligation until all restrictions (social distancing measures)

are lifted. We will continue to YouTube weekend and daily Masses for the benefit of those who choose to stay at home or are otherwise unable to attend Mass.

• During in person mass and due to limited space in the church, you will be asked to be seated in every other pew. Households are to maintain six-foot distancing between their family and other families or indi-viduals upon entering and leaving church and throughout the Mass. The faithful are asked to wear a mask from their automobile until reaching their pew. The priest or deacon will bring Communion to you while kneeling in your pew. You will not be approaching the altar.

• Social gatherings (before or after Mass) are still prohibited at this time and parishioners are asked to maintain social distancing on their way into and out of church.

ADULT FAITH FORMATION with Fred Hack

Get ready. We’re star ng with the first le ers from Paul to his Jewish converts. ! &2 Thessa-lonians becand eternal life with him is the reward ame necessary because Paul and Silas had to leave Thessalonica (modern Salonika) rather hurriedly. As a result his catechesis was in-complete. He tasked Timothy to return, confirm the new converts in the faith, and report back to him any ques ons, problems, and other concerns. As you read 1Thess., note the informa on given about the “end mes”. The new Chris an Jews wanted to know about life a er death. It is here that St. Paul lets them know that “we are loved”, “we are saved”, we have the mission to let the rest of the world know this. St. Paul talks about death as more of a form of sleep rather than and end of life. His referrals to the second coming then raises ques ons that need further expla-na on. 2Thess. Addresses specifically those ar cles of faith that St. Paul raised but needed further explana on. The second coming is not imminent, but be ready. God’s final judgement will last forever. Have hope, however, because Jesus showed us that resurrec on is for those who are “ made worthy of the kingdom of God” Pay a en on to 2Thess 2:3. These are warning signs for possible “end mes.”

CGS for our Sunday & Wednesday students: • 1st Communions Masses will be at 1PM and at 3PM on Sunday, April 25th. Families who

have a student making their 1st Communion have been no fied via email as to which Mass their student will a end. Extended families are allowed to come to the Mass. We will probably s ll be seated every other pew and there will be extra sea ng in the parish hall.

• Pictures for 1st Communion are s ll being finalized. We will send the details soon via email. Thank you for your pa ence.
