Sunday Morning Parking Lot Trac Flow: Design and Benets

 Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we adjust to our new parking resources.

A great deal of planning has gone into the way we are using our lots and roadways.

Following is additional information that will help explain the way the lots are used on a Sunday morning.Please see the map on the reverse side for more information.

 Trac ow design factors:

• Avoid hazardous two-way traffic and intersections

• Allow fast in and out flow during the busiest traffic times

• Fill the lots in orderly manner to quickly identify available spaces

• Allow safe and fast passenger drop off at the front entrance

• Balance the number of cars using each exit

• Make Morton Road North Entrance the primary entrance• Before and during 1st hour, fill in the North, West, and South Lots only

• Before and during 2nd hour, fill in the East Lot

Benefits of traffic flow design:

• Traffic moves one way through aisles and on roadways

• Space is available during each worship hour

• The Self Park Lot is available during any service

• The Morton Road exit is accessible from all lots

Hints• Please follow directions when you enter a lot. The Parking Staff is trying to fill spaces

starting at the farthest point of the lot and working back toward the entry point.

 This minimizes backups by reducing pedestrian and car cross traffic.

• In order to fill the lots quickly but also give everyone an opportunity to easily get out of cars,

we will be filling spots across the width of the lot and then skipping a space.

• We have limited “drop-off” capacity. Please keep this in mind during inclement weather and dress

accordingly.
