Local Organizations Receive Arts Grants through the REGI Program Eight applicants from the ACC’s 16-town region were recently awarded grants for arts projects that will take place over the course of the next year. The grants are funded through the Connecticut Office of the Arts’ Regional Grant Initiative Program (REGI), which was piloted in 2015-2016 and is now in its second year. The REGI pro- gram supports small, collaborative projects that promote access to the creative process or the creative experience, especially those that experiment with new ways to apply the arts within community. The program is administered by the nine regional arts ser- vice organizations around the state, including the Arts & Culture Collaborative (ACC), Waterbury Region. Recipients include the Arts Alliance of Woodbury, Arts Escape, Inc. of Southbury, Marilyn O’Neil in partnership with the CT Accordion Association of Cheshire, the Connecticut Summer Opera Foundation of Woodbury, Community Counseling Center of Central CT - Wolcott office, the Hispanic Coalition of Greater Waterbury, the Committee for a New Waterbury, and the Valley Arts Council, based in Derby. Congratulations to the eight recipients for their successful grant proposals! The ACC looks forward to the implementation of these inventive and valuable projects during the upcoming year.
