BUFFALO, NEW YORK February 3, 2013
Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time, February 3, 2013 Like the father in the Gospel, God welcomes us home in spite of our sinfulness and calls us to a life of holiness. Where are you at home? Are you called to be a priest, deacon, brother or sister? If God is calling you to a Church vocation, call Father Walter Szczesny at 847-5535.
Your support protects me, as J e s u s would. By contributing to the 2013Appeal , you help to protect Foster Grandparents like Wilson from isolation and need, while enabling hime to share his time, talent and heart with some of Buffalo's most vulnerable youth. Protect. Strengthen. Empower. Please give to the 2013 Catholic Charities Appeal. Formoreaboutourworkca l l218-1400 orcheck us out at www.ccwny.org
Second Collection weekend of February 2/3 For many in the Church in Central and, especially, Eastern Europe, the aftermath of 70 years of Soviet rule and state-sponsored atheism are still evident every day in the form of poverty and lack of access to pastoral care and buildings in which the faithful can worship and cultivate their faith. Your donations help strengthen the Church ofthis region through grants to Catholic organizations that help deliver pastoral care, form leaders, and build places where they can worship in the light of Christ. Please be generous this weekend.
A Scout is Reverent On Sunday, February 3, the Boy Scouts ofTroop 107 will be celebrating Scout Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Troop 107 has been a part of our parish family for over 88 years. Scouting teaches citizenship, self reliance, leadership, and Duty to God and Country. "A Scout is Reverent", the 12th point of the scout law, and today we gather to honor our faith and to pray for all our members past and present, especially those who now serve in our Nation's Armed Forces. Pleasejoin us in celebrating our 88th! Following Mass refreshments will be served in the convent and the scout room will be open for viewing.
