Sunday August 6, 2017 14 STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Swachhta Pakhwara is being observed by JK Group of Colleges as per the direc- tions of NSS Directorate. Day one witnessed the oath taking ceremony by NSS volunteers under the supervision of Neelam Mahajan, Programme Officer. Shashi Chaudhary, Principal said that the pur- pose of observing this Pakhwara is to work for clean and healthy India as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This was followed by thoughtful speeches by students of the college in which they spoke about their commitment to work for clean and healthy nation. On second day, the vol- unteers of NSS conducted cleanliness drive in the college campus. The stu- dents enthusiastically par- ticipated in cleaning their classrooms and library. The motive of this drive was to instill the feeling of working together for healthy environment. Days three to five wit- nessed the cleanliness drives in the college which were further extended by cleaning the playground, auditorium as well as ensuring the maintenance of clean toilets by the vol- unteers of NSS. The principal appreciat- ed the efforts of NSS unit and urged them to main- tain the cleanliness of the surroundings. D&FCO conducts market checking STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: To ensure avail- ability of safe and whole- some food articles to the general public especially on the eve of ensuing fes- tival season, a team of Drugs and Food Control Organization (D&FCO) officials today conducted surprise market checking at various places in the Jammu district. The team visited Channi Himmat, Bus Stand, Purani Mandi, Gandhi Nagar, New Plot etc and inspected various Food Business Vendors during which samples of Khoya, Burfi, Milk Cake, Gulab Jamun, and Malpura were lifted for quality check. "Food Business opera- tors are hereby advised to strictly adhere to the pro- visions laid under Food Safety and Standards Act and maintain high stan- dards of sanitary and hygienic conditions to guarantee safe food to end users and to carry out the food business after obtaining proper food licenses, a statement of the D&FCO said. Jehlum resorts announce the sale of furniture, furnishing and fitting of its guest rooms mentioned below. Interested parties may visit the hotel before 14th August 2017 from 10 AM to 5 PM and quote their rates for the items in which they have interest. It is not necessary to quote for the whole lot.
