What are you being called to do?
Please think and pray into your gifting. Do you love Music? Are you a Techy person? Do you love working with Kids? Do you love to Cook?
We all have God given gifts, talents and passions, which can be used to draw those around you closer to Him.
We just need to be willing to share them with those around us. Who knows, it might just be your unique way of thinking
which provides the lightbulb we’ve been waiting for…
No matter what you love to do, you can share it with your Church Family. Maybe once a month? Less? More?
God can use you to build His people no matter what.

Poetic Reflection on wrath! ~ Last week we examined the need to grow in our fear of the Lord while we delight in his grace. The wrath of God is the justice of God responding to the outbreak of sin. We cannot understand the cross without the wrath of God as the Son took the full wrath of God upon himself to rescue us from our deserved sentence of death. Grace now has a greater depth when we understand that the roaring Lion of Judah who cannot be domesticated is also our place of refuge toward whom we flee. We can be rescued and comforted by the very judge of the earth who will finally do what is right and deal justly with all wickedness. I have penned a poem that describes a little of the biblical story of the wrath of God meted out by our God of love. Please read it and reflect and worship the King of Kings as you do.

Thoughts of a Scattered Church, Together Again… In response to Rod’s Sermon last week on using our Spiritual Gifts, I thought it would be good to have an idea of what your own Spiritual Gifting might be. So, after discussing it with Rod, I’ve included a/the link to a survey I believe we, (as a Church), have used before. Some of you may still remember what your results from last time were, and you may find it interesting to see whether your results are the same, if they’ve changed, or grown more pronounced. I know some people always have one Gift that they are most upheld in, and then there are others who find their Gift’s will change over time. Due to a different need in their life, or the growing and strengthening of another Gift. I’d like to encourage you all to do the short Survey, and meditate on what that means in your own lives. Who knows, you may surprise yourself with what you find… “Father God, please guide your people as they seek to know themselves better in light of the amazing gifts you have given them. Give them understanding and insight into how you are calling them to share them with those around them. Amen.”

r Here is a short reflection of the theme of Shockwave for this term. I asked my nine-year-old what the Holy Spirit meant to him. He told me about the tongues of fire at Pentecost and that Jesus lived within him. I said, “Great, but what does He mean to you.’ He couldn’t answer me. Jesus explained he was returning to the Father, but it is for our own good as he will then send the Holy Spirit. As Christians living in post-resurrection times, the Holy Spirit is our Advocate, our comforter, teacher and friend. It was after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that the body of Christ – the Church – grew strongly in power. Shockwave, the outreach primarily to Indigenous families will re-start on Tues 7th of July. Please pray for this program as Jesus’ light shines. One activity we will be sharing on this day, will be each person receiving a tea-light candle and then bringing them all together outside to the fire, symbolising the coming together of believers as the Church. This will lead into our next theme – God’s family. Please prayerfully consider whether you could be part of this exciting ministry. ‘He has been raised to the right hand of God his father and has received from him the Holy Spirit as he had promised. What you now see and hear is his gift that he has poured out on us.’ Acts 2:33 GNT Blessings,
Robyn.
Shockwave needs volunteers to cook a healthy and filling meal approximately
once every ten weeks for about 30 people. If you are interested please
contact Nerida on 0427 560 115.
Can You Help?
1. Pray for the SA/NT pastor’s retreat coming up in early August down in SA. Pray that it will be a time of unity and reflection as the group seeks the voice of the Good Shepherd as they worship and pray together. 2. Pray for Melbourne and Sydney as they face increasing restrictions. 3. Pray for people to reach out to the living God during this time and find peace in this time of anxiety and discover eternal life in Jesus Christ. 4. Pray for the countries suffering huge numbers of cases and deaths every day. 5. Pray for the light of the gospel to penetrate and for a way out of this crisis. 6. Pray for the new babies on the way for Rebekah & Alex Riley and also Megan & Gavin Brown. Pray for good health for both mother and child.
For all our Worship Team folks… Please consider letting us know if you have any known unavailability coming up. If you are able, putting it in Elvanto is very useful. If you need help on this,
or would rather just send an email, please feel free to contact me @
“To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.” - Martin Luther
1. Pray for the Alice Springs council as they continue to make decisions on behalf of our town that they will be wise and understanding as they determine the way forward in many areas. 2. Do pray for NT LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL ELECTIONS coming up on the 22nd of August, that the candidates which will most benefit our region will be elected. All 25 seats are open for re-election so do pray for God's hand over the whole proceedings. 3. Rose Rees is recovering well and is in good spirits even though life is very different for her after her operation last year. Nell Major is also recovering well after the removal of a brain tumour in the frontal lobe. She is making progress every week and the family are enjoying being back in Alice Springs and settling back into a semi- normal life here despite the Corona Virus restrictions. We give thanks for the Lord's healing hand on both these two precious ladies. 4. Continue to pray for those making decisions, that they would have wisdom beyond their understanding. For the safety of the medical staff treating those with Covid-19. Especially pray for the healing of those effected medically, and for those who have lost loved ones.
