USA Hockey – American Development model
Why? USA is ranked 6th by International Ice Hockey Federation
What?- Current system just evolved over time
- Ten years ago we began the National Team Development System- Performed elite performance studies/research
- Hockey is not an early specialization sport, pgm to 20 years old- Early specialization may be detrimental
- Based on LTAD model, endorsed by NHL - Form ~36 HPC (impact on AAA?)
- Provide specific educational materials, by age group
When? NOW
