Primary scheduling is complete and teams will receive their schedules by September 27th The following is the day of the weekend teams will be playing (there could be some slight variations to make tournaments and long weekends for teams work)

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS: • In order for Summit Hockey to be successful, we must depend on our families.• $150.00 volunteer deposit is required at registration.• All families are required to fulfill 10 hours of volunteer time (15 for families with more than one child in the program).• All hours must be completed to receive deposit refund (no pro-rating)• Managers will record hours.

Why? USA is ranked 6th by International Ice Hockey Federation

What?- Current system just evolved over time

- Ten years ago we began the National Team Development System- Performed elite performance studies/research

- Hockey is not an early specialization sport, pgm to 20 years old- Early specialization may be detrimental

- Based on LTAD model, endorsed by NHL - Form ~36 HPC (impact on AAA?)

- Provide specific educational materials, by age group

Training and Competitive Environment:• Training/Competition Ratio: No formal competition• Training Volume: Hockey two times per week, with session length no longer than 50minutes in the Learn to Play Program. A third session at the 8 & Under level can beheld for an informal competition – cross ice/half-ice games

Summit Mentor/Student Coach program

Objective: Provide mentor/coaching training and opportunities for our more experienced players, and convey this to our younger players in the form of skills demonstrations, goal setting, and role modeling.

• Mentors will volunteer from Tigers varsity, Midgets, and U19, then assigned to teams• Mentors will receive training from Coaches and local professionals (D. Mikita)• Selection process is underway now
