Arrival at the place

The camp was held at Sto. Nino Resort in Dalahican, Quezon, Philippines. It was

titled Real Grace with the theme: “Showers of Grace and Kindness in Christ

Jesus” found in Ephesians 2:7 MSG.

We left Silang, Cavite at 4:30 am and reached the place at around 9:00 pm. The

place was a little remote and the road to the resort was a little narrow. But the

bus was able to pass through. Thanks be to Jesus!

First Day –Orientation

On the first day, we lacked chairs where the campers could sit but God provided.

Food preparation

There is no stove available so we set up a make-shift kitchen just outside the

camp site. The rice is cooked by Ptr. Joseph and company. It is actually a

challenge to cook rice in a big wok like this. But by the grace of God, they are

able to do it.

The campers are able to eat on time to get ready for the evening service.

After the early evening meal, the campers are told to go to their respective

groups to get to know each other and prepare their group flag and compose

their own yell.

Others preferred to take a nap to get ready for the evening service.

The Evening Service

The first night is great! It is all about the grace of God and the love of God.

Second Day

The young people start the day by a morning service and after that, they have

some exercise. At this time we are about 130+ people in the camp site. The

place is becoming too small as young people from different places start to arrive.

The sessions

In the sessions, more explanations on what the grace of God really is.

Many are really refreshed after we finish the session. We sing the “I see grace”

song and many who respond felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. Some are

crying. Some are laughing. Some speak in tongues.

Page 8: Summer Youth Camp 2013

8

Some are shocked at others especially the new ones, but they later on

understand that is the Lord that touched those people. Others are in awe and

kneeled to show their appreciation of Jesus’ finished work.

Some are just struck by the lightning bolt of God’s anointing power that they hit

the floor, oblivious at what is around them.

Afternoon Activities

After that morning session, the staff prepares a number of activities so that they

can get to know each other. Each group is to present their flag and shout their

yell with matching dance.

Second Night

Surely, there is this realization that when God’s children, the church, come

together, we are there to celebrate Jesus Christ and His Finished Work.

We jump, dance, sing, and celebrate the goodness of God! Can’t help but

celebrate God’s goodness!

So many young people dance, rap, sing, other showcase of talents.

11

On the second night, Ptr Ardel and I speak about the grace of the Lord and

encourage them further to continue growing in God’s grace. We also have

communion led by Ptr Ardel.

Divided Sessions

On the third day, to make sure that each one is given the opportunity to ask

what grace is all about, we divide the group into seven. It’s actually just six but

we separate the really new ones to be taught separately not mixed with those

who have heard the Gospel before.

These are the new ones who haven’t heard of grace before. They

are being taught by Ptr Alan, our local pastor in Caloocan.

This group is taught by Ptr Kim. This group is handled by Ptr. Tonet.

This group is taught by Ptr. Bon. This is taught by Ptrs. Jha and Joel.

This group is taught by Ptr Andre. This one is handled by Bro. Noel.

Third Day (The Last Day)

We have a three-hour seminar on Law and Grace, answering most common

questions that people usually ask. Using illustrations to explain the basic

principles of being under law and under grace, the youths see the difference of

what it is to be under law and under grace.

After a short break, I group them into small groups to experience God

personally.

Some of the Staff

They are the ones who put ideas into activities. These are the young people

who are also touched by God’s grace but are now used by God to reach out

others.

These are some of our pastors who are in-charge of the kitchen.

Ptr. Bien and Ptra. Leny, husband and wife,

our senior pastors in Silang, Cavite.

Pastor Joseph of Batangas and Bro.

Junior of Quezon.

Thank you very much for your help and support to this ministry. This youth

camp 2013 will not be a success without your generosity. I know the Lord has

touched the lives of those youths who attended. In every young person that is

changed, you are already a part of that.

No matter how little or big your contribution is, it has been a big help. I thank

God for all of you!

Many are looking forward to having a much bigger camp next year. Other

churches have expressed their desire to join us in another grace explosion and

life transforming experience with Jesus Christ!

“So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord's service is ever useless.”
