Living up to its reputation as being one of the premier business schools in the country, Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi takes immense pride in announcing the successful completion of its summer placement season for the Class of 2014-2016. At this juncture, on behalf of the Corporate Relations and Placements Team, we would like to thank each and everyone, who has supported and trusted us throughout the placement season. With our alumni performing exceptionally well in the industry and the unflinching trust shown by the recruiters, more than 70 companies participated to recruit from the talent pool at IIM Ranchi. Maintaining our tryst with the regular recruiters, who have yet again shown immense confidence in the potential of our students, there was a marked increase in the number of new recruiters on campus. We had the privilege of hosting some of the biggest names in the industry for Summer Placements this year. There was even a substantial rise in the number of offers made by the old recruiters with our students bagging some of the most sought after internship profiles in the country and abroad. The average stipend increased by a whopping 30% emphasizing the success of the placement season this year. We would like to thank our alumni, faculty, staff and all those who are at the heart of these achievements and have backed us throughout the process.

The Class of 2014-16 consists of an eclectic mix of students from diverse educational backgrounds, with close to 12% of them coming from non-engineering backgrounds like Arts, Commerce, Economics, Fashion Technology, Pharmacy, Medicine and Science.

There exists a healthy mix of fresh and keen under-graduates along with students having prior work experience in some of the reputed firms in the industry.

Students have prior work experience in reputed firms like Colgate Palmolive, Toyota Motors, EY, PwC, Deloitte, Amazon, LG, MuSigma, Aon Hewitt, Canara Bank Securities, HP, Maruti Suzuki, and Emami.

Sales & Marketing Sales & Marketing continued to be the most preferred domain of the students with 35% of the batch choosing to pursue internships in it. While Fast Moving Consumer Goods & Consumer Durables remained the most sought after sector in this domain, this year saw a plethora of companies from other sectors such as Engineering, Healthcare & e-commerce. Some of our prominent recruiters were Becton Dickinson, Bluestone, TATA Steel, Hero Motocorp, Godrej, People Group, among others. Niche profiles offered in this domain were Social Media Marketing, Digital marketing & Brand Management. Finance IIM Ranchi played host to a large number of companies offering roles in the Finance function accounting for 21% of the total offers. This year saw several new recruiters queuing up for the brightest minds in the field of finance, offering roles in Corporate Banking, Equity Research, Retail Banking, Investment Banking, Risks, Treasury & wealth management. ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, RBI, Darashaw, NCDEX were some of the top names recruiting from IIM Ranchi in finance domain.

The summer placements for the Class of 2014-16 witnessed participation from more than 60 companies, with 26 first-time recruiters. The 123 strong batch, picked up summer internship roles in diverse sectors such as BFSI, FMCG, Manufacturing. Consulting, Media & PR, E-Commerce, Pharmaceuticals & healthcare. The placement season was spread over a few weeks to ensure that various functional roles offered by the companies could be made available to the participants.

A multinational FMCG major offered international Sales & marketing roles to students at IIM Ranchi.

A UAE based Investment Banking firm offered internships in front-end investment banking & private equity exclusively to IIM Ranchi students.

General Management & Consulting Around 16% of the batch received offers in the General Management & Consulting domain , re-iterating & re-emphasizing the faith in the quality of students at IIM Ranchi. Consulting domain saw companies like Deloitte, EY, Technopak and Wipro Consulting recruiting from IIM Ranchi. Operations The number of companies offering Operations role saw a substantial rise. Around 14% of the batch opted for roles in Operations function. Companies like TATA Steel, Cummins, Larsen & Toubro, Myntra, Wockhardt & Lafarge offered various roles like Supply Chain, Process Excellence, Warehousing & Procurement. IT / Analytics The IT sector continued to re-affirm its faith in IIM Ranchi students by doling out summer internship offers to around 10% of the batch. Inline with the objective of becoming one of the leading institutes in the field of Business Analytics, specialized roles were offered by various analytics firms. Other Highlights The season also witnessed niche profiles being offered by companies in Sustainability, Energy Management & Event Management areas. Staying true to the goal of inclusive growth for the society, IIM Ranchi also provided opportunities to intern with Non-Government Organizations & Not-for-Profit Organizations such as Rakshak Foundation & Sarthak Foundation.

Operations domain saw a two-fold increase in the number of summer internship offers as compared to the previous year.

Wipro, Microsoft, Datawise were some of the key recruiters in the IT / Analytics domain.

Stipend Summary

For the 3rd PGDHRM batch of IIM Ranchi, while prominent recruiters continued to repose their faith in the students, a number of first-time recruiters across various industries thronged the campus. Some of the top recruiters of the PGDHRM Class of 2014-16 were Larsen & Toubro, RPG, Samsung R&D, Titan, ICICI Bank, Wipro Consumer Care, Bluestone, Sun Pharmaceuticals, TATA Steel & Wipro Technologies.

The summer placements for the Class of 2014-16 is an evidence of our focus on the

holistic development of our students, dedication towards academics and emphasis on

pertinent management aspects. For the past four years, students at IIM Ranchi have

consistently proved their caliber in the corporate sector. The industry has exemplified
