The Adventure starts here!

Our exciting activity day and week options run throughout the summer holiday period. We have activities to suit everyone with a flexible programme to ensure you don’t miss out on the action.

Some of our activities take place away from the Falkirk area taking in some spectacular scenery in challenging adventurous surroundings, whilst many are delivered locally to minimise your time spent travelling and maximise your time out on activity.

Our team of instructors are valued for their people skills as much as their technical abilities, ensuring your time is action packed, fun, safe and enjoyable.

This summer we will once again be offering a childcare element to the service at both centres by opening our doors at 0830 in the morning and remaining open until 1730 after

the activity has ended. During non-activity time participants will be closely supervised at the centre.

Our activities all begin at 0900 and end at 1630. This year all our activities will take place outdoors.

Courses run from Victoria BuildingsSplit Days These days are taster sessions where we offertwoactivitiesinoneday(halfandhalf).Thismightincluderockclimbingand canoeing, climbing and mountain biking or gorge walking and kayaking. The whole day will be spent away from Falkirk so please book with this in mind.

FiveDaysofAdventureIfyoubookfiveactivitycourseswithus we charge you the cost of four. For instanceyoumaywanttobookonfivemountain bike days over the whole period or you may want to come along every day of the same week and take partinwhat’sonofferthatweek–eitherwayifyoubookfiveseparatecoursesfor the same young person in the same booking it will cost £104.

FamilydayThis is the chance to have a full day out onactivityforthewholefamily.Pricesare based upon one adult and one child. Additional family members are £15 per head. Kids, ever wondered how the old man would get on in the gorge? Parents,nowisyourchancetoseewhatall the fuss is about and join the young people for a day out with us in the great outdoors.

Overnight CoursesOur overnight camping expeditions are a great way to get the most out of the outdoors. These courses run over two days with a camp overnight. Our instructors will be in charge of the cooking and all camp-based activities so it is suitable for people who have not camped before.

overnightBushcraft2daysHow about building your shelter and staying initovernight?That’stheaimofthis2daycourse. If the weather is poor we have tents. A kit list will be sent out upon booking.

3 Day progression courses To progress to our higher impact courses you’llneedpriorexperienceorabitofcoachingfromqualifiedinstructors.These three day courses are aimed at people who want to increase their skills on any of the following activities: climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, rock and water. We will build up your skills eachdayuntil,onthethirdday;wewilldo a more technical session.

These courses can be booked as a block of three for the discounted rate of £63 or if you only want to book one day of the course it will cost the day rate of £26.

Half Day Taster Sessions at Action Outdoors

As well as offering our Adventure Weeks at Action Outdoors we will be running half day sessions here on the fourth and sixth weeks of the school holidays. The minimum age for most of these taster activities is 7 years old. We are offering half day Try It kayak or canoe sessions, mountain biking and our new activity Katakanoe crazy – which uses very stable double kayaks to explore the canal and have a whole lot of fun.

TryIt–CanoeingIntroductory half day sessions in our open canoes for beginners. No experiencerequired–learnhowtocontrol the boat and how teamwork makes life easier.

Try It – KayakingIntroductory half day sessions in our kayaks for beginners. No experience required–learntheskillsneededtohavefun on the water.

Paddlepower AwardsIf you want to improve your skills we will berunningour“PaddlepowerAwards”,practical lessons where progress is assessedandcertificated.Thiscourseruns to Scottish Canoe Association standards.

ThefivePaddlepowerAwardsare:Start,Passport,Discover,Explore&Excel

Eachawardbuildsonthelasttohelpthepaddlerbecomemoreconfidentandskilled on the water. These courses run regularly throughout the holiday period. There will be morning and afternoon sessions. We envisage an informal club element developing for regular participants.

Try It – MountainbikingOursessionswillaccessCallanderEstateCycle Network via the canal towpath. There are all levels of trails on offer here.

Our ActivitiesCanoeingBigboatsequalbigfun.Comeandtryitoutor,ifyou’vebeeninonebefore,improve your skills on one of our local lochs. You might even visit a cave, an island or a ruined castle.

Kayaking You may get wet, you will pick up skills and you will have a whole lot of fun. Our loch based kayaking courses are a great way to explore some stunning areas.

River KayakingA day for more experienced kayakers. Youwillneedtobeconfidentinwaterand have a skill level above beginner. If youhaven’twornaspraydeckbeforetryourbeginnerskayakingcoursefirstbefore booking for a river trip.

WhiteWaterRaftingUp to eight people in a raft for some seriousfundownoneofScotland’sclassic rivers. Getting wet is guaranteed along with the fun. Open to all abilities with a sense of adventure.

Rock climbing / AbseilingRock climbing at a local crag or if theweatherisn’tgoodwewillgoindoor climbing. We can take anyone from absolute beginners to budding mountaineers. How high can you climb? How hard a route can you do? How big an abseil can you manage? Find out this summer.

Gorge WalkingThis is our easiest rock and water activity. It’sachallengetoscrambleupasteepriver where there may be waterfalls and jumps.It’sgreatfunandverypopular

CanyoningExploringbiggercanyons,wherecommitting jumps and using ropes to abseil are essential to get down safely. For the more experienced adventurer only.

CoasteeringClimb, jump and swim along a beautiful stretch of coast on this action packed adventure.Youdon’thavetobeastrongswimmer to enjoy this activity and all the jumps are optional.

BlokartingRacing along, powered by the wind, inches above the ground – this is a fantastic experience. We really need thewindforthisactivitytorunsoifit’sa calm day we will do another activity instead. Mountain BikingMountain biking on single track terrain. This summer we will run bike sessions to suit all needs, from beginner to more experienced riders. For those who want to explore a little further we are running a mountain biking expedition.

BushcraftLearn a bit about surviving in the woods,buildshelters,lightafireandgetinvolved in a whole lot of fun! Based in MuiravonsideCountryParkthiscoursewill appeal to anyone who just loves being out of doors.
