CRAIG MILVERTON & THE MILVERTON LEGACY BANDLed by Craig Milverton, one of Britain’s finest Jazz Pianists with 12 British Jazz Awards to his name, The Milverton Legacy Band is fast establishing itself as one of the most exciting bands on the Jazz Scene with many festival and club concerts to date. Craig is joined by his talented children Eleisha May on Vocals and Ben Milverton on guitar, both of whom are experienced musicians who’ve performed all over the UK to great critical acclaim. Completing the line-up are the ever-versatile Ashley John Long on bass and swinging drummer Coach York.

CADILLAC XPRESSCadillac Xpress is led by your host, Jeremy Huggett on saxophone, keyboards & vocals. He’s joined in the front line by Kevin Grenfell on trumpet, trombone & vocals and they’re backed by a rhythm section featuring guitar, bass & drums. Playing a mixture of Jazz, Jump Jive & Swing and some Rock & Roll favourites Cadillac Xpress plays at Clubs & Festivals and private parties all over the UK to great audience acclaim. They also regularly perform for Saga holidays including their River Cruises on the Rhine. Great for both listening and dancing Cadillac Xpress are guaranteed to get our Dinner Dance off to a swing!

JEREMY HUGGETT & MATT PALMER’S REEDS A PLENTY

Jeremy Huggett & Matt Palmer first joined forces on stage at one of the after-session Jam Sessions at Bude Jazz Festival in 2013. They quickly realised how well their musical styles complimented each other and decided to form a band together. Reeds a Plenty started performing gigs together in early 2014 with the aim of playing lively, exciting music in a style reminiscent of Soprano Summit as well as other jazz greats like Sidney Bechet. Jeremy & Matt’s armoury of saxes and clarinets are backed by a superb rhythm section of Simon Banks (piano), and Graham Smith (drums).

JEREMY HUGGETTJeremy’s early musical career saw him receive a number of awards - 1989 he was nominated by musicians from the famous “Old Duke” in Bristol for a place at Johnny Dankworth’s Summer School(Wavendon). In May 1992 he was invited to guest in concert at the Colston Hall in Bristol with the US76th Army Band and in 1993 he won the award for Best Reed Player in the UK.

Since then, Jeremy’s gone from strength to strength, playing with famous names all over the countryincluding Acker Bilk, Digby Fairweather, Cy Laurie, George Melly, Humphrey Lyttleton, Danny Moss, Pete Allen, Tommy Burton, Beryl Brydon, Enrico Tomasso, Jim Fryer, Roy Williams and the list goes on.

BABY JOOLS & THE JAZZAHOLICS A great opening band for our Summer 2020 Jazz Weekend led by powerhouse drummer Jools Aldridge. Featuring some of the UK’s top jazz musicians The Jazzaholics regularly performs at Jazz Clubs and Festivals all over the UK and in Europe. The band has audiences listening and dancing right from the start with a repertoire including the music of King Oliver, Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Kid Ory and George Lewis along with Gospel songs, Spirituals & New Orleans parade tunes.

Amazingly, this is the 20th consecutive Summer Jazz Weekend and again it is being hosted “Live at the Langstone” by Jeremy Huggett. Jeremy presents the pick of the Westcountry Jazz scene for your entertainment over this value packed weekend.
