Bio:Debin Ma is an associate professor in the department of Economic History at the London School of Economics. He is a very active researcher in Chinese Economic History. His research focuses on modern history of China starting from Later Qing Dynasty and Republic China. He is working on comparing China’s development path with that in Japan, Europe and U.S.
