Thursday, June 4–Saturday, August 8Pat West: TangledPresented by the Center for the Arts at Virginia TechMoss Arts Center, Ruth C. Horton Gallery, 190 Alumni Mall

A journey through landscape—both real and metaphoric —is the subject of Tangled, a one-person exhibition of paintings by Pat West. An established artist in Blacksburg and the New River Valley, West is well known for her bold, richly textured, expressionistically rendered paintings. Thick paint and vigorous brushstroke lend a sensual density to works in which vitality and chaos seem to alternately seethe, merge, and collide. Movement, insistent and relentless, convey a restless, complicated world of exterior landscapes in nature while suggesting a complexity of interior landscapes in the mind and heart.

Hours: Tuesdays–Fridays, 10 AM–6 PM and Saturdays–Sundays, 10 AM–4 PMAdmission free
