BtS Ball-Jointed Arm and Clamp Systems At Beneath the Surface (BtS) our design team philosophy is simple. Create the best functioning product, make it

out of the finest materials available and then test it repeatedly in the environment continually refining it to ensure

that it stands up to the rigors of the underwater realm. Our stainless steel ball-jointed arm sets, with their aluminum

alloy clamps do just that. BtS arms and clamps outperform all others and are the best arm set value on the market

today.

Arm Features and Benefits: Streamlined/Low Drag - Tubular stainless steel design allows them to have the smallest surface area of any arm.

Lightweight - BtS arms are lightweight due to their smaller profile and hollow core. They are perfect for the traveling

diver.

High strength - Manufactured of 304 stainless steel tubing, BtS ball-jointed arms are much stronger and more dura

ble than aluminum alloy arms. The hard anodized, 6061 aluminum ball ends are pressed on at 5000 psi, then the ends

are sealed with stainless steel cap screws.

EPDM O-rings - We use the toughest rubber o-rings available. Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) M-class,

rubber O- rings. They withstand the shear forces and friction between ball end and clamp better than any other.

Arm Clamps – BtS arm clamps offer stronger hold and better arm retention because of their specially beveled

cut, which increases the contact area between ball and clamp. They do not require extreme clamp tension like

some arms to maintain arm position. Finger tight is all you’ll need.

Easy to Maintain – The same as your dive gear, just rinse and soak in fresh water after use.

BtS Flex Arm Systems

Beneath the Surface flex arms are the premium flex arm on the market today. We offer more important features

and options than any other manufacturer. With over 60 different models available, BtS has the flex arm solution for

everyone. BtS flex arms are designed to fit the most popular strobes and LED lights available. We have models

that will accept lights from Big Blue, Light & Motion (Sola), Underwater Kinetics (Aqualite) as well as any

round shaped lights in our Universal mount. We also offer either a double ball ended flex arm that can be used

with any 1” arm clamps, or a single ball ended flex arm with a YS type light mount adapter for Sea and Sea

strobes.

Arm Features and Benefits: Flexibility - Our uniquely designed flex arms allow countless positioning of your strobe, or light very, even while

shooting. This gives you the widest variety of possible lighting angles and positions for creative effect.

Safety Cable – All BtS flex arms come with a built-in 1/16" vinyl coated stainless steel safety cable that runs

BIG BLUE:

To mount a Big Blue light on a BtS arm: (1) Remove the ball mount from the light. (2) Using the hardware and wrench provided, attach the

light to the arm with the 4mm x 16mm cap screw with the lock washer and the flat washer. *NOTE: Add a small amount of Blue Loctite #242

to the thread before security before installing screw.

SOLA:

To mount the Light&Motion SOLA light on a BtS arms, remove any factory mount from the light, and slide the light onto the BtS arm using

the 10-32 x 1/4" screw provided. *NOTE: Add a small amount of Blue Loctite #242 to the thread for security

UNIVERSAL:

Our Universal light mount (UNI) will fit any round light that is 3/4" to 1 1/4" in diameter.

AQUALITE:

Our Aqualite arms come with the attachment hardware needed to connect the light to the BtS arm.

YS:

Our YS arms come ready to attach any YS compatible light no additional parts are needed.

Warranty Beneath the Surface warrants this underwater camera tray or accessory components to be free from defects in material and

workmanship for the life of the product to the original purchaser with proof of purchase. If you discover a defect in a product

covered by this warranty, we will at our option replace the entire tray system or just the defective component.

Exclusions This warranty covers defects in manufacturing discovered while using the product as intended by BtS. The warranty does not

cover loss of theft, nor does coverage extend to damage caused by misuse, abuse, unauthorized modifications, improper storage

conditions, corrosion of striped threads. This warranty does not cover parts that are subject to normal wear and tear replacement

requirement, such as O rings and nylon webbing.

Limits of Liability Should the product(s) fail your sole recourse in replacement, as described in the preceding paragraphs. We will not be held

liable to you or any other party for any damages that result from the failure of this product. Damages excluded include, but not

limited to, lost profits, lost equipment, damages to other equipment, and incidental or consequential damages arising from the

use, or inability to use this product. In no event will Beneath the Surface be held liable for more than the amount of your pur-

chase price, not to exceed the current list price of the product and excluding tax, shipping and handling charges.

Requirements

Return shipping cost to be paid for by the buyer of the product. Replacement shipping will be paid for by Beneath the Surface.

WARNING Do not over tighten screws or bolts. Striped threads are not covered under manufacturer warranty. Please see torque specs

below.

Corrosion

Manufacturer does not warranty product to be corrosion proof. The aluminum used in the manufacturing of these products are

finish in a type 3 hard anodized finish which by its self will protect the aluminum parts from corrosion, but whenever you intro-

duce a unlike metal to one another you will get a reaction in salt water. (I.E.) BtS tray components are connected with stainless

steel hardware, both the tray and the screws are corrosion resistant by themselves but when you put them together in salt water

you get a reaction, so the following is required to keep your tray free from corrosion and working great for years to come.

#1 Apply a small amount of silicone grease to threads of screw every time they are assembled. (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN

ANY FASTENER).

#2 After use completely disassemble tray and soak in hot soapy water to help remove salt crystals and rinse thoroughly, let all

parts dry before storage.

#3 Some parts you cannot disassemble (I.E.) arms and strobe adapters. These parts with get a buildup of a white powdery cor-

rosion around where the stainless steel rod is pressed into the aluminum ball or adapter this is NORMAL. Follow the same pro-

cedure as stated above except use a soft tooth brush to scrub around connection point rinsing with warm water in between

scrubbing.

#4 All stainless steel hardware can be brushed free of any white corrosion with a small brass or stainless steel brush available at

most hardware stores.

#5 O rings will last for years with good maintenance and storage techniques if however you need a replacement they are avail-

able from Beneath the Surface in bags of 10 please call to order in an emergency you could use a size #209 O ring available at

any hardware store.

#6 Nylon webbing soak and rinse well after every use let dry completely before storage. Inspect for abrasions and ware after

every use.

#7 Delrin components rinse in warm water and let completely dry before storage. Delrin is in the plastic family there is no need

to apply silicone grease to screw threads as it has no corrosion issues.

#8 Clamps remove the “T” handle by unscrewing it from the bolt being careful not to lose the nylon washer or the spring use

your ss brush to clean the treads of the bolt then apply a small amount of silicone grease and reassemble. Do this after every use

and this clamp will last a lifetime.
