What Size Should My Window Opening Be?Subtract 1/4” in each dimension, from the outside edges of the art being framed, for a 1/8” overlap on each side.

How Big Should i Make My Mat?Mat size is a matter of personal taste; we recommend borders of at least 21/2” in most cases. Border widths usually increase with the size of the artwork, but wide mats also help add weight to small pieces. Making the bottom border slightly wider than the top border helps balance artwork hung at eye level.
