Letter from the CEODear Members,

Summer time, summer time, and the weather’s fi ne! So many activities to fi t between school sessions, warm weather, summer time; days are longer can we fi t in all in?One thing we can not let lapse is our family’s spirit, health and fi tness and of course our own. This is the time to spend with family and where better to do that than at your YMCA with all of the programs we offer indoors and out. Our Camps are open for registration and our swim lessons are ready to go. We will be open during the summer holidays, so you can send the kids swimming while the burgers are grilled and picnics are readied. The Member perk starting June 1st is our ever popular Fitness Assessment and it is free! We also now have qualifi ed Personal Trainers on staff that can assist you in your health and fi tness goals. If you haven’t checked out our TRX Suspension Training classes I suggest you do for a challenging workout. We are doing our best with the pot holes at the end of the drive, working with the Community Organization to make permanent repairs, meanwhileVal our Facilities Director, is trying to tame them with gravel fi ll in, please be careful coming through that area.July will be a super month, I’ll give you further head’s up on that as the details of these “breaking” storylines evolve. Right now you want to pass the word that a new program “First Step” will be offered to non-members to help them take that fi rst step into YMCA membership. Non-members will enjoy the YMCA while having to experience our fi tness classes in order to keep attending. “Get Started” is a new program for members that will take you on a 8 week journey focusing on your engagement withour YMCA; strengthening you and your family’s; Mind, Body and Spirit. Through a series of classes and orientations we will set you on the path to wellness. Our Annual Support Campaign has now started our Community Support Phase, and as members you are part of our YMCA community. Our membership dues keep our buildings and grounds functioning while our Support Campaign lets us continue all of the good works that this YMCA does. So when you see our campaign materials in your mailbox and awareness postings around the building please give in support of your YMCA. I am available to you, in the business offi ce, [email protected] 634-9622 ext. 22

Together We Make a Difference. Look for our baseball specials throughout the summer!Keep Family First,

YMCA AFTERSCHOOLThe Cheyenne Family YMCA Learning Center Before and After School Program is for elementary students from across Cheyenne. The program offers a safe, nurturing, challenging and fun place for children after school. We cultivate self-respect, self-esteem and self-control, all of which contribute to a child’s future success. We also promote our four core values: Respect, Responsibility, Honesty and Caring. Our Before and After School Program uses a curriculum that explores apprenticeships with the children. Recently students developed their own businesses as a means to learn about entrepreneurship.

Pre-registration for Fall of 2010 is now being accepted.
