INTEGRATED ACOUSTIC TEXTILE
Integrated Acoustic Textile (IAT) is a distinctive black textile bonded to the rear of all of SUPAWOOD's acoustic panels.
IAT has no less than 4 main roles:
1. Sound absorption
2. Easy installation
3. Aesthetic appeal
4. Health, Durability & Safety
INSU
LATION
ABSORBER
1. Sound absorption
Sound absorption is IAT's primary role. The secret to the effectiveness of the SUPACOUSTIC IAT is the way that the sound pressure wave passes through this fabric. The sound wave faces a resistance to fur-ther propagation to an extent that has been acousti-cally optimised to ensure maximum sound ab-sorption.
When installed with an air space, the acoustic im-pedance of SUPACOUSTIC IAT provides sound ab-sorption equivalent to conventional acoustic ma-terials of the same thickness as the depth of the air space. IAT can be used in conjunction with bulk insulation products such as SUPAWOOD’s HP50 bulk insulation where an even higher level of acoustic performance.
The consistency of the bond to the entire surface of the panel right up to the edge of the slots or perforations is critical to the acoustic performance. For this reason SUPAWOOD heat adhesive bond the fabric to the rear of our SUPACOUSTIC panels using an in-line process for consistent bond strength.
2. Easy Installation
IAT, being a factory applied material, requires no extra installation works on site, and potentially eliminates the inconvenience of using bulk insula-tion which requires additional purchasing, han-dling, storage, cutting and fixing on site.
IAT also overcomes potential causes of substandard as built acoustic performance since it cannot be “Skimped on”, forgotten, or mis-installed.
3. Aesthetic appeal
IAT's Black Non-Woven Fabric surface provides an elegant and consistent appearance and provides a complete visual block of the ceiling cavity, including framing, light spread from fittings etc.
4. Health, Durability & Safety
IAT prevents dust from the ceiling cavity entering the space and fibre release from bulk materials like polyes-ter blanket, Rockwool or fiberglass and had been select-ed to optimise mechanical strength.
At 0.3mm thick IAT has considerably more tamper re-sistance than “Tissue” or “Black facing products on the market.
IAT has an excellent fire rating, being Fire Group 1 with an average specific extinction area of 4.2m2/kg when tested to AS 5637.1-2015.
IAT has excellent chemical resistance.

REFLECTIVE & DIFFUSIVE PANELS
As well as SUPAWOOD's ranges of absorptive linings, SUPAWOOD products also provide reflective and diffusive solutions.
SUPAWOOD’s standard panel thick-ness is 12m, but we can produce solid reflective panels up to 32mm thick to achieve the reflection of sound.
SUPAWOOD can also produce cus-tom diffusive panels either through angled solid panels, curved panels or perforated panels with a solid backing.
Diffusive panels are also achievable in a SUPASLAT by mounting the slats on a solid backing board.
