■ Sumatriptan does not necessarily cause coronaryartery vasoconstriction in patients treated for migrainewho experience mild chest symptoms after each SCinjection. Stefan Evers and colleagues from MunsterUniversity, Munster, Germany, report that a 52-year-old woman had a normal coronary arteriogram, despite slight chest symptoms, after she received SCsumatriptan 6mg, 30 minutes prior to the diagnosticcoronary arteriography. Thus, these symptoms maynot be of cardiac origin, say Stefan Evers andcoworkers, although they advise that the agent not begiven to patients with cardiac disease.Evers S, et al.
