Reactions 536 - 4 Feb 1995 Sumatriptan does not necessarily cause coronary artery vasoconstriction in patients treated for migraine who experience mild chest symptoms after each SC injection. Stefan Evers and colleagues from M¨ unster University, M¨ unster, Germany, report that a 52-year- old woman had a normal coronary arteriogram, despite slight chest symptoms, after she received SC sumatriptan 6mg, 30 minutes prior to the diagnostic coronary arteriography. Thus, these symptoms may not be of cardiac origin, say Stefan Evers and coworkers, although they advise that the agent not be given to patients with cardiac disease. Evers S, et al.
