METALLURGICAL SULPHURIC ACID PLANTSSNC-Lavalin is well experienced in treating the off-gas from pyrometallurgical processes for the smelting and refining of nickel, copper, zinc and sulphide ores through metallurgical sulphuric acid plants. Our plant design takes into account all factors in order to produce the most desired sulphuric acid quality for our clients. Our sulphur specialists are highly experienced and can answer any design specifications, from low-high gas strengths to an increased amount of water. We aim to produce quality acid from our metallurgical sulphuric acid plants that matches that of sulphur burning sulphuric acid plants.

EMISSIONS SOLUTIONSSNC-Lavalin also offers gas cleaning systems to clean and condition the gas prior to entering the contact section of the acid plant for both brownfield and greenfield projects. We also have the capability to provide further conditioning through wet gas cleaning which condenses the water from the gas. In addition we offer removal of fine particles and mist in tail gas by electrostatic precipitation. The gas leaving our systems contains minimal amounts of contaminants that could be problematic to the plant. Our design is built to produce quality acid and to diminish operating difficulties for our clients.

EXPERT ADVISORY SERVICESSNC-Lavalin is capable of carrying out studies and assessments for projects of any size. We also specialize in plant servicing, operations improvements, revamps, upgrades, logistics and management. We are highly experienced in sulphur handling services including molten sulphur, solid sulphur, spent acid regeneration and desulphurization.
