ANTALYA

I will present to you Antalya. Antalya is my hometown , firs of all I will give you some information for Antalya is located in the south of the anatolian. In 1st century BC the Pergamum king Attalus ordered his men to find the most beautiful piece of land on earth; they discovered this land and said "This must be 'Heaven' " and King Attalus founded the city giving it the name "Attaleia". When the Romans took over the Pergamene Kingdom, Attaleia became an outstanding Roman city which the great Roman Emperor Hadrian visited in 130 AD; hadrian gates was built in his honour. Then came the Byzantines, after which the Seljuk Turks took over the city in 1207 and gave it a different name, Adalya, and built the Yivli Minaret. The Ottomans followed the Seljuks and finally within the Turkish Republic it became a Turkish city and an important port.

Kaleici: This is the center of a city which lived many civilizations during time. It is now restored and has became a most attractive touristic centre with its hotels, restaurants, shopping and entertainment facilities. Kaleiçi has all the original ancient Turkish archaeological characteristics. The port's marina has been completely restored. The restoration activities in Kaleici won the Golden Apple Prize, the Oscar of tourism.

Hadrian's Gate: This ornamental marble arch was constructed in 2nd century BC by the Romans in honour of the Emperor Hadrian. It is the most amazing area in the whole ancient Pamphylia region. It’s the gate of ancient antalya

Olympos. The city, which is found on 2nd century B. C. is emptied on 6th century. Famous Bellerophontres - Chimera war is made here. An hour of walking on a tight and uneven slope coming from a river bed after Cirali will bring you to Chimera's unique natural ambient. Chimera is known by the natives as "Yanartas" due to continuously burning natural gas, which is coming from mountain.

Yivli Minaret: This fluted minaret was built 13th century by the Seljuk sultan Alaeddin Keykubat by the Seljuks. Decorated with dark blue and turquoise tiles, the minaret eventually became the symbol of the city. Yivli minaret’s high is 38 meters and there are 90 flight of stairs.

Manavgat waterfall is 4km North of manavgat town centre. The waterfall like many is not high with foaming white water rushing powerfully over the rocks but a horseshoe shaped more gentle waterfall in Manavgat River. Situated next to the waterfall so that a good view can be seen and photographs can be taken there is a communal area. For a small entrance fee the waterfalls shady tea garden, restaurants and craft stalls make the falls a plesant, cool resting spot where picnics can be had by all, and a great day out to spend with the family.

ASPENDOS

Aspendos Theatre-the best-preserved theater of antiquity, with seating for 15,000. Still used today, the theater's galleries, stage decorations and acoustics all testify to the architect’s success. The stadium with a length of 220 meter and a width of 30 meter , was situated to the north of theatre. Most of the seats have been damaged. The Aqueduct, It is 1 kilometer away from the ruined city. It is a good example of the water construction technique of the Romans. The water was conducted to the upper city through this aqueduct using the principle of communicating pipes. The marvelous acoustics of the theatre are unique making possible activities like the Altin Portakal Film Festival and Aspendos Opera-Bale Festival even today. The site is 45 km away from Antalya.

KONYAALTI BEACH

Konyaaltı is Turkish and foreign people may go swimming from within the city open to public. Since Konyaaltı beach is the common property of the people of Antalya services as to enable the people from every economical and social class to make use of are provided there .It is a 7 km long sand and shingle shore public beach 3 kilometers in the west of Antalya. It is the most crowded place of Antalya which accommodates some multiples of its own population during daytime in summer . Inside the beach there are cafes, restaurants, hotels and pensions.
