Years ago when I asked my Grandfather to define suc- cess he said, Success is when you look back at your life and the memories make you smile. So lets talk about failure and success. Success is what happens when you set out to make the world a better place, and when you keep going long enough to bring it about. Failure is what happens when you're con- vinced that the whole world is against you, and you persist in making that belief into a reality. Success is when you live the Word of God with your whole heart, mind and soul. Failure is when you live words of materialism and secular society with your whole heart, mind and soul. Success is what happens when you look for ways to cre- ate new value, and then enthusiastically follow those possi- bilities. Failure is what happens when you think the world owes you something and you expect to live off the value created by others. Success is what happens when you open your mind to view ideas while keeping yourself grounded by proven vir- tues. Failure is what happens when you think you know it all and when you consider civilized behavior a waste of time. Success is what happens when you find a way to take pos- itive, effective action, no matter what obstacles may stand in your way. Failure is what happens when you become better at making excuses than at getting results. The sower of seed found success and found failure but never gave up the search for success and he achieved a fruitful harvest when he found it. Every moment focused on the seed of Gods word will lead you to some very real, very specific results. Every moment with the thoughts, attitudes and actions you choose, can determine just what those results will be -- success or failure. - Deacon Mick St. Patricks Parish 2111 Muldoon Road Anchorage, Alaska 99504 Parish Offices: 907-337-1538 Parish Website: www.st.patsak.org Success or Failure? Memorial Wall Names

This summer we are offering a Memorial Wall Special.

Add your grandparents’ names to one of our Memorial

Walls and get both names added for a total of $500.

Each name will be in a separate block just like the

names already engraved -- all that is cut is the cost.

We are also offering a section of the Sorrowful Wall

for the names of relatives and friends who have died

in the current pandemic, also at $250 per name. Each

name will be in a separate block with the years of birth

and death. Please consider honoring your relatives

and friends on our Memorial Walls

here at St. Patrick’s.

If you are interested please email John Gagnon at

[email protected], or leave a message at

There are two projects I’d like to see this year. 1) Let’s move the Holy Fam-ily statue to the left side of the church and the taber-nacle behind the altar. 2) Let’s get some suitable cabinetry in the sacristy and fix the sinks! We are at about 64% of our Archdiocesan goal. Once we reach that, then we can start raising funds for the above projects. I’ve made my pledge. I invite you to make yours. As always, thank you for your generous financial support of the parish and the Archdiocese!
