cycleways and waterways The previous Christchurch City Council used a revolutionary campaign- share an idea to see what taxpayers are wishing for. That has led to the revolutionary development of the major cycle routes programme (which will likely to result in shifting the way we all travel), and the acknowledgement of the need for the restoring of the Avon and Heathcote rivers. I understand that in order to fulfill this wonderful vision we need finance, and for that I am supporting the sale of shares and the rates rise. However, I also aware that the CCC is constantly under pressure to contribute to other infrastructure d projects. This pressure may consequently lead to the prolong of the construction and the restoration of those cycleways and waterways. Therefore, I want to make clear that I will only support the drastic economical changes if the creation of the cycleways network and restoring our waterways will be priorities. Thus, I would like to see that the CCC is committed for creation of the cycleways and the restoring of the Avon and Heathcote rivers within the first half of the ten Years Plan. I would also wish for the CCC to become aware of the other three rivers who flows in its area: The Halswell, the Styx Mill and the award wining Otukaikino, and to see if it can support the job done by its park rangers along those rivers.
