the lug and uncut torpedo cover. The other consists of the lug and

• Hook-on terminal lugs have side tabs to mate with locking recesses provided in the corresponding pads

TYPE UCB

Submersible Pedestal Set-Screw Connector for

Direct Burial or Below-Grade Boxes


• Heavy-duty series accommodates conductors up to 1000 kcmil with bus

cross-sections rated at 2000 amperes. Two sizes in this series are

configured with dual 350 kcmil conductor ports at each end of the bus.

• Ports can be used for making intermediate taps from large secondary

feeders or where voltage drops require the use of large feeders.

• Conductor sockets are pre-filled with electrical joint compound and THS Torpedo covers are

provided for all termination positions. These covers are designed to be field cut at one of several

marked steps to match the specific conductor. A 5/16” Allen wrench installs single set-screws and a

3/8” Allen wrench installs all double set-screws.

Submersible EPDM Rubber Splice Covers• EPDM rubber covers for insulating 600 volt compression splice connections including those subject

to water submersion at head pressures of three feet or less. Also suitable for direct burial. Ends

have stepped sealed surfaces to accommodate a wide variety of conductor sizes. Installer cuts off

these ends to fit the specific application.

• Hardshell covers offer outstanding protection and installation

convenience when using compression splices on600 volt conductors.

The rigid covers remain intact when in contact with splice joints having

sharp metal flash or non-uniform shapes. For use in backfill trenches containing sharp and/or heavy

stones as well as cable trays beneath a large number of other heavy conductors. Rated for 90 degrees

C class operation.

• EPDM rubber end caps have stepped sealing surfaces to allow all conductor jacket diameters to be

accommodated. They also have enlarged internal grooves, which mate with rings at the ends of the

body shell to provide mechanical locking designed to prevent disengagement of caps.
