The numbers we use for counting objects are called counting numbers. These numbers have names like one, two.. And so on. In english they are wriitten using numers such as 1,2,3,…… These numbers are known as International numbers.

Comparison of the numbers

Of the given numbers, the number having more digits is greater and the number with fewer digits is smaller.

Ex. Compare the numbers 52,56,356 and 9,12,656.52,56,356 consists of seven digits and 9,12,656. consists of six digits.

Comparison of the numbers

Of the number of digits in the given numbers is equal their extreme left digits are compared.

Ex. Compare the numbers 58,56,356 and 79,12,656.

58,56,356 and 79,12,656 consist of seven digits.Their extreme left digits are 5 and 7 respectively.

Ascending and descending order of numbers

To write 3 or more numbers in ascending order , the smallest number is written first and the bigger ones are written thereafter in serial order.

To write 3 or more numbers in descending order , the biggest number is written first and the smaller ones are written there after in serial order.

Forming the smallest and biggest number from given digits.

To write the smallest number Write the smallest digit first and then write the numbers in

ascending order. If in the given numbers 0 (zero) number is given, first write

the smallest number and then 0, and then write the numbers in ascending order.

The digits 3, 9, 8, 6 are given, smallest number is 3,689.The digits 1, 4, 0, 5 are given, smallest number is 1,045.

To write the biggest number

Write the biggest digit first and then write the numbers in descending order.

The digits 3, 9, 8, 6 are given, biggest number is 9,863.The digits 1, 4, 0, 5 are given, biggest number is 5,410.

To write the smallest & biggest number If you have given 4 digits and required to write 5 digit

smallest numbers Write the smallest digit first twice and then write the

numbers in ascending order. If in the given numbers 0 (zero) number is given, first write

the smallest number and then twice 0, and then write the numbers in ascending order.

The digits 3, 9, 8, 6 are given, smallest 5 digit number is 33,689.The digits 1, 4, 0, 5 are given, smallest number is 10,045.

To write the biggest number

If you have given 4 digits and required to write 5 digit biggest numbers

Write the biggest digit first twice and then write the numbers in ascending order.

The digits 3, 9, 8, 6 are given, biggest 5 digit number is 99,863.The digits 1, 4, 0, 5 are given, biggest 5 digit number is 55,410.

Ex. Write the smallest and biggest numbers using all the given digits in every number. Use each digit only ones.

Ex. From the digits 7, 3, 9, 2, 1 make the smallest and biggest six digit and seven digit numbers.
