Fine art is sometimes misunderstood. “It intimidates people,” says art

consultant Lisa Gregg. But, chimes in Gregg’s partner, Kate Lane Ferraro,

“you needn’t spend a fortune to get something great or make a major

statement.” !e two friends have been on the same page since they met 12

years ago, when Gregg was working at the Museum of Contemporary Art

Chicago and Lane Ferraro was getting her MA in art history. “We were always

doing something that the other was interested in,” says Gregg. But it wasn’t

until a few years ago, when they were helping a mutual acquaintance make

some acquisitions, that their consultancy was born. Today, they together

find representation for emerging artists and place art of every ilk and price

(from outsider to blue chip) in clients’ homes, “even though we’re opposites

in terms of style and type,” says Lane Ferraro. !e di"erences work in their

favor: “!ere’s no job we can’t relate to,” notes Gregg. “And no artist lead that

we leave unturned,” adds Lane Ferraro. gregglaneart.com

What do you collect? LG: Emerging art with female subjects, and works from living outsider artists.

Favorite city: LG: Portovenere, Italy, because it’s my kind of Italian Riviera, and the Hotel Paradiso.KLF: London, for the Connaught hotel, as well as Zuma for sushi.

Picasso or van Gogh? KLF: Picasso. He resonates with us both because of his ability to make the unusual, beautiful.
