Cathy Sandeen, Dean, Continuing Education

• Cathy Sandeen, PhD, MBA, has more than 18 years of experience in continuing education and professional development at 3 University of California campuses. Prior to joining UCLA, Sandeen was Vice Provost and Dean of University Extension and Summer Session at University of California Santa Cruz.

• Serving more than 55,000 students per year, UCLA Extension offers more than 4,500 classes and programs per year meeting the professional, continuing education, and personal enrichment needs of individuals, companies, and organizations.

William Gaskill, Director, American Language Center

• Dr. William Gaskill has been the American Language Center Director since 1995. He has served as the Academic Coordinator after teaching at the American Language Center from 1976 to 1988.

• Gaskill has an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language and a PhD in Applied Linguistics at UCLA. He has studied in Germany, lived in Iran, and traveled to many countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America.
