The Boonah Junior Show Committee have much pleasure in

presenting the 2020 School Students Show Schedule.

The following are extracts from the Show Society Schedule which will be of interest to Students of all ages.

It includes all the Junior Classes from the various sections of the Show.

The Junior Show Committee want to encourage Students of all ages to exhibit in our Show. All entries in the Junior Classes are free to Students, except for the Horse Events.

Management and Committee Members are nominated members of the Show Society. Members subscription for the Boonah Show Society Inc is $25-00 per person per year. Members receive a Free 2 day Pass for gate admission to the Show. THIS DOES NOT ENTITLE MEMBERS TO A DISCOUNT ON ENTRY FEES.

The Junior Show Committee are Students from the Boonah High School. They appoint Junior Stewards to work in all Sections of the Boonah Show, assisting the

Show Society Stewards on Thursday, Friday & Saturday of the Show. They also assist with “Show Ed” for the Primary School Students on Friday.

The Students have input into the Show Program. They hold regular meetings in their lunch breaks at School.

Students will receive registration information through their School.

AIM OF SHOW ED:- · To educate Students that there is more to shows than Sideshows/Show Rides, Fairy Floss

& Sample Bags and spending a lot of money! While all these things are part of the tradition-al Show, and it would not be a Show without them, we would like to show Students the oth-er side of their local Show.

· To give Students the basic understanding of how to prepare and present exhibits, how to use their show schedule, what Judges are looking for, and background information of some of our most important primary producers, such as dairy, agriculture, cattle, poultry etc.

· The opportunity to awaken a desire to learn new skills, and to instil an appreciation of the skills and effort put in by the many exhibitors in all the different Sections of the Show.

· To understand the tradition and importance of their local Country Show, enabling them to appreciate the work and effort it takes to stage such an event.

PROGRAM:- Junior Students (Prep & Years 1 & 2 ) will be invited to attend the Show for half a day. Morning & Afternoon Groups. Special Interactive Area. Stamp Book provided. Senior Students:- (Year 3 to Year 6) Full Day . “Taking the Students to the Show” Scavenger Hunt, Scarecrow Trail & Interactive areas. Work book provided. High School - Year 7 Students:- Full Day Program, 2 x 2 hour sessions plus free time. Group 1:- Cattle School, Free time-Lunch, Horse School Group 2:- Horse School, Free time-Lunch, Cattle School

COST:- Free for all Primary School Students. $5-00 per Student for Year 7 Each Year 7 Student will receive an armband to attend the Show on Saturday.

LOCATION:- All activities will take place at the Show. Entry via Melbourne Street and assemble at the tables outside the Dining Hall to meet your Guides. FACILITATED by Show Stewards & Industry Representatives & Junior Show Committee.

been created to encourage schools to showcase the talent of the students at your school.

CLASS 1. “SELF MADE” - JUNIOR SCHOOL (Grades 5 –9 Inclusive. ) • Outfit can be for any occasion except swimwear or sleepwear • Garment is to be cut and sewn by the entrant. May receive advise on how to complete. • Purchase price of fabric may not exceed $100-00 (Receipts must be included) • A sample swatch of each fabric used must be attached to the entry form. CLASS 2. SENIOR SCHOOL :- (Grades 10 –12 inclusive) • Outfit can be for any occasion except swimwear or sleepwear • Garment is to be cut and sewn by the entrant. • Purchase price of fabric may not exceed $150-00 (Receipts must be included) • A sample swatch of each fabric used must be attached to the entry form. CLASS 3. OPEN “KIDS IN NATURAL FIBRES” Entrant may be any age, but outfit must be for a boy or girl aged 7 –15 years inclusive • Suitable for any occasion including formal wear (no swimwear or sleepwear ) • A sample swatch of each fabric used must be attached to the entry form.

RULES & CONDITIONS

* This event is being run in the form of a barrel race, with competitors being timed. They will not be racing against another competitor.

* The winner of each class will be the fastest time to complete the course without incident. * All competitors must wear helmets, safety clothes and boots. * All competitors bikes will be scrutineered before entering the event. * Competitors are to assemble at an area where directed 30 minutes before the event. * Only 5 nominations will be accepted for each event. No entries will be taken on the night. * Entry forms can be picked up and returned to Secretary, Boonah Show Society, P.O. Box 1, Boonah * The enclosed Waiver, Release and Acknowledgement Form must be signed by a Parent or Guardian,

and returned with this Entry Form. QMP will also require an Indemnity form signed on the night. .
