1. .BOF Oxygen blowing end point determination. Due to manual determination of end of blow point of oxygen, lot of iron is getting wasted as slag. This reduces the yield factor of the BOF process and increases the amount of CO2 gas released into the atmosphere. If a dynamic model can be implemented on the basis of flue gas composition and temperature, productivity and the yield factor of BOF process can be significantly improved.
2. In Cooling Tower possibility 11.25 kW power generation with of 3 micro Hydel power plant .

Basic oxygen Furnace(BOF)
The purpose of the Basic Oxygen Steelmaking (BOS) process is to refine the hot metal produced in the blast furnace into raw liquid steel, which may be subsequently refined in the secondary steelmaking shop.
The main functions of the Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) are to decarburize and remove phosphorus from the hot metal, and to optimize the steel temperature so that any further treatments prior to casting can be performed with minimal reheating or cooling of the steel.
End-Point Control
The static charge calculation provides an estimate of oxygen and cooling agent requirements. Final adjustments are made 2 to 3 minutes before the expected end of blow. These additions are calculated from a measurement done by, for example, sublance or drop-in thermocouple, or from an estimate (gas analysis) of %C and steel temperature at that time.

Detection of metal height and/or slag level
Accurate weighing of input and output materials
Control and regulation of fluids and solids (O2, N2, ore, lime, …)
Electromagnetic slag detection sensor in the taphole
Flowrate and temperature of hood cooling water, pressure in the hood
Laser inspection of refractory wear
