Student council report 2013-14
Student council of JSS CPT is a group of voluntary members elected by the UG and PG
students of the college for the planning and execution of various academic and extra
curricular activities of the college.

Election and Investiture ceremony
Student council election were held on 3rd of September 2013 for appointing the selected
candidates to work collectively towards various activities for the year ahead. The newly-
elected members of the Students Council were inducted in a meeting
The college held the investiture ceremony with great enthusiasm. Investiture ceremony was
held on 4th September 2013. The event began with JSS College Anthem. Previous student
council members (2016-17) formally inducted the President Nesin S Abraham and other
elected council members and under the leadership of Mrs Renuka Devi, the selected members
took the Oath.
Academic activities
A quiz competition was conducted among all UG and PG students on October 2nd as a
part of Gandhi Jayanti and 65 students were participated
Sports activities
Our college eternally uphold sports activities and this consistent support foster our students in
sports activities. This was evident in our one month long annual sports. sports was started on
February 5th of 2014. The indoor game was started first. Later from February 8th the outdoor
game was started. And the valedictory function was conducted on 13th February.
Cultural activities
Different programmes organised under cultural committee throughout the year. Which
includes the Christmas celebration, College day celebration and National integration day
celebration. All UG and PG students participated in all the activities with great enthusiasm.
Other activities
Apart from all the mentioned activities, student council were actively involved in the
planning, execution and organisation of Republic day celebration, PG CON and various other
programmes conducted in the college during the 2013-14 academic tenure.
Student council report 2014-2015
Student council of JSS CPT for the year 2014-15 was elected by an election were 80 percent
of the student population has participated (PG and UG). The council involved group of
voluntary members who took initiatives and leadership in planning and execution of various
academic and extracurricular activities of the college.

Election and Investiture ceremony
Student council election was held on 7th September 2014, Saturday. The results were
announced the same day and newly- elected members of the Students Council were inducted
in a meeting by Mr. Jakson K Joseph, lecturer and the responsibilities of particular member
was explained.
The college held the investiture ceremony with great enthusiasm. Investiture ceremony was
held on 8th September 2014. The event began with JSS College Anthem. Former student
council members (2013-14) formally inducted the President Mr. Jerin Mathew and other
elected council members and under the leadership of Mr. Jakson K Joseph who was the staff
co-ordinator and UG co-ordinator, the selected members took the Oath.
Academic activities
Felicitation of individual subject toppers, Inter-college informative poster competition and
Essay competition was organized on 8th and 9th August 2015.
Sports activities
Indoor and Outdoor sports competitions were organised as part of sports week which started
with indoor game Badminton on January 31 and finally ended with athletic meet on 8th
February 2015.
Cultural activities
Month of January was celebrated as “Sambhrama” Cultural fest. Various competitions were
organized for UG and Post graduate students.
National Integration involved celebration of Dasara through Garbha dance fest, Onam with
Pookolam, Deepwali with Diya decoration completion, Christmas with crib making and carol
singing competition, Ramzan with mehandi competition followed by Iiftar party.
The council also took initiative along with sister institution of JSS in organizing Republic
day, Independence day and Kannada Rajyothsava Celebration.
Other activities
Apart from all the mentioned activities, student council were actively involved in the
planning, execution and organisation of Quindeccenial celebration, College Day, Magazine
release, PG CON 2 and Graduation day. Council was also involved in organizing workshops
for the current academic year.
STUDENT COUNCIL REPORT 2015-16
The Student Council is a representative structure elected by students through which the
students can become involved in the affairs of the College, working in partnership
with college leadership, staff and teachers for the benefits of the College and its students.
Student council of JSSCPT plays an integral and important role in students’ community and it
act as medium between the college and students. Student council will conduct special
meetings in the beginning of each session with principal and all other staffs to plan for that
session. Other meetings will be conducted every month and additional meetings will be
conducted as necessary

Students Council were inducted in a grand ceremony and the members has taken the oath from
Dr.Kavitha Raja.
Academic activities
Student council conducted a number of programmes under academic cell. Academic week
was conducted from Jan 13 to Jan 18 of 2016. Academic cell has conducted one

CULTURAL REPORT
The very first cultural activity initiated by students council was NATIONAL INTEGRATION DAY on 9th
November 2016. It was held at both college premises and at Rajendra auditorium. The competition
conducted was dandiya, oppana, pookalam, diya with rangoli and diya decoration. The judges was
invited from the JSS College of Nursing.
The next cultural activity done in college was FRESHERS DAY. It was held on 19th november 2016 at
Rajendra auditorium. Ashik John, Noble vachan , Meghana and Prerana was awarded Mr. Fresher,
Mr. Handsome, miss fresher and Miss Elegant respectively.
Cultural week for the students “SARGAM- 2017”was conducted at Regendra auditorium on 17th
December 2016. It included both on stage and off stage events like singing, dancing. Table top
cooking, photography, collage making, best out of waste and other numerous programmes. All on
stage event was on morning and off stage events was at afternoon 2pm. The great participation
from the students made it a successful event.
Christmas was also celebrated on 20th December 2016 in the crib making competition. Students and
lecturers also shared gifts in their respective classes.
On 5th May 2017, COLLEGE DAY and MAGAZINE REALEASE “swaasthya_2017” were conducted at
Ragendra auditorium. This was followed by cultural events. Students were awarded for their
achievements on the day. The evening ended by DJ party.
SPORTS REPORT
The annual sports meet of JSSCPT was celebrated on 22nd January 2017 at SJCE sports ground and
the chief guest was KR Manjunatha, An international Table Tennis Umpire. The event started with
prayer, torch light march and chief guest’s declaration of opening the event. This was followed by
track and field events. In the last prize distrubution was held and the championship was given. The
overall sport championship for sports was won by 3rd year BPT. Pooviah won individual sports men
trophy and Sarwath won individual sport women trophy.
ACADEMIC WEEK REPORT
Academic week was held on February 22 to March 4 at Rajendra auditorium, events area as follows
quiz, paper and poster celebration, debate was conducted among sub-junior, junior and senior
categories. Judges were both internal and external facuty.
Annual Report Student Council 2017-18
The student council report is the one which looks back, reflects and evaluates our experiences and
achievements throughout the past academic year. We look back on a long, extensive, tiring but a truly
rewarding year and surely the whole of Student Council has gained loads of invaluable experience.
The immense support and guidance of the student council staff was one big factor in bringing us
success in everything we set our foot in and a massive thank-you to all students who supported us.
Without them, our year would not have been the same.
Election and Investiture ceremony

Students Council were inducted in a grand ceremony. The college held the investiture ceremony with
great enthusiasm. Investiture ceremony was held on November 12th Sunday, 2017. The event began
with JSS College Anthem. Previous student council members (2016-17) formally inducted the
President Muhammed Rashid, Vice President Swathi M.V, General Secretary Sherin Siby, Treasurer
Sayed Anvar, Academic Secretary Fasal Gafoor & Anusha P, Sports Secretary Poovaiah C R & Anna
and Cultural Secretary Shahamal Sharaf & Neha Daisy Thimothi. The Student Council under the
leadership of Mrs Renuka Devi Associate professor took the Oath. Fresher’s was continued after the
Oath ceremony.
Academic activities
Academic excellence is central to a fruitful educational experience. Knowing which academic
presentations are most helpful for a student will provide learning opportunities that foster the
academic goals. And good presentation will improve skills of organisation and confidence. We used
to conduct academic presentation on 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month. Students from 1st year to 4th
year, interns and PG’s used to share their knowledge on given topic for the day.
Sports activities

The annual sports day was held on 28 January and the chief guest was the kick boxing champion’s
Pooja Harsha and Harsha Shankar. The day was inaugurated by releasing the balloons’. Torch light
march was also taken place. In the last, price distribution was held and the championship was given.
The intercollege sports event was held in Suttur. There were about 40 colleges which took part in the
event and our college was one of it.
Our college students participated in various events held there and secured prizes.

‘Our college won the overall championship for the year 2017-2018’ that was the proudest movement
for all the participants of our college. Our sports secretaries Anna Akhila John and Poovaiah C.R were
forerunners for all this.
Our college constitutes a sports room separately which consist of all equipment’s required for the
sports events. This sports room is wide open for the students till 8pm. There is table tennis court,
carom boards, chess boards and many other sports equipment’s are available to the students. There is
a shuttle court which is available to the students of our college and also we provide opportunities to
the students of other college to use the shuttle court.
Cultural activities
The very first event we did was Christmas celebration. On 8th December at 2pm the Estella 2017,
Christmas celebration was conducted from the PMR ground. The crib making competition was the
first program to happen. Judges for the events was the Sisters of Presentation Convent. Followed by
Carol competition and Best Santa Competition was conducted. And that was the end for the messages
from secret santa. Students and staff exchanged gifts each other, and there was “Christmas Tree” with
full of gifts for all. Celebration ended with “pot luck party”. The night was magical indeed.
‘ENTHUSIA 2018’ College cultural week for the students, by the students was on December 13th to
17th 2017.Along with evergreen off stage and on stage events, student council this time conducted Skit
and Mime .The onstage events were conducted on 22.01.18 and 23.01.18.
The famous model Aishwarya Gowda, Mr Utham, Dr Gangadhar and an International Singer
Mr.Nataraj were the judges for the first day. On 23.01.18, the judge for the day was Mr.Pavan
Raghav, who is a famous dance instructor and a celebrity.The programme reached its new heights and
cherished the joys of ‘Enthusia’ through spectacular dance performances of Mr. Pavan Raghav on the
final day.
As part of Republic day celebration 2018, JSS College of Physiotherapy, JSS College of Nursing, JSS
School of Nursing & JSS institute of Speech and hearing, together celebrated the 69th Republic day of
the Indian constitution. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr. R Mahesh, Director of Medical education
JSSMVP. Dr. Natarj, Prof Sheela Williams, Dr. Kavitha Raja, Mr.Sashidhar were the other dignitaries
of the day. Students council of JSS College of Physiotherapy had conducted an intercollege Essay
writing competition on 25.01.18. The topic was ‘What are the challenges faced by the constitution of
India over the 60 – years post independence’. The competition was conducted in three different
languages (Kannada, Malayalam, English) and the winners were felicitated by Mr. R Mahesh.
Intercollege fests are not just about fun but that it also augments a student’s learning experience. Our
students participated in various intercollege cultural fest conducted by J.S.S College of Phramacy,
Christ College, All India Institute of Speech & Hearing (AISH). It helped students to stage their talent
and get recognition on a great scale. Our cultural secretaries Neha Daisy Thimothy and Shahamal
Sharaf took initiative for this.
Other activities
Helinet Workshop
On 9th November Helinet workshop was conducted in Library. Arrangements were done one day prior
by student council and the programme was well organized and successful.
Fund Raising
Vishal of 2nd year BPT student got selection to the national Kick boxing competition. So considered it
as a pride, and by understanding the need for the financial support to him, as per the instructions from
the Principal Dr. Kavitha Raja, student council members did a fund raising plan. Contributions were
collected from staffs and student in college.
And we successfully got 8700 Rupees from this. And an amount was also given by the Alumni
members of JSS College of Physiotherapy. The amount was handed over to Vishal on 8th December
during Christmas celebration.
Library Activity
Colour coding system was done in library for books and CDs in library. A workshop on library
arrangements and rules was done by the initiative of student council.
NSS Programmes
NSS regular camp was on 7th February and Special camp was conducted from 12- 17 February. As
part of NSS cyclothon and self- defence class was conducted on 24th February. All of this was
unforgettable experiences and student council worked hand in hand with the NSS organisation team
for the success of the programmes.
PG CON 3
PG CON 3 was held on 1st , 2nd , 3rd & 4th December 2017. Pre conference workshops on Vestibular
Rehabilitation and Tapping Technique, was on 1st and 2nd December. Purchase & transportation
committee, Hospitality, Registration, Photography and Reception committees were formed. In each
committee a staff, Student council members and other students were also included. And the hard pays
off, PG Con was a successful conference.
Future plans
The past year has witnessed numerous initiatives launched by the Student council. During the many
consultation meetings that took place over the course of the year, the Student council’s initiatives
were put on the agenda and discussed. In future we would like to continue the same.
Our academic week and academic day will be conducting on April last week.
UG CON for the first time in JSS College of physiotherapy is one of our future goal to achieve.
Which will be by the UG’s and for the UG’s.
In sports level to participation in the inter college shuttle tournament in which we would like to bag a
lot of prizes.
We have plans to organize an integration day and college day and to hold hands for graduation day.
With the blessings from his holiness Jagadguru Dr Sri Shivarathreeshwara Deshikendra Mahaswamiji
and with the immense support of our teachers I’m sure that we will achieve all this in a very short
span of time.
