Tampere Vocational College Tredu has rented two apartments for exchange students from Tampere Student Housing Foundation (TOAS).

Both apartments have three bedrooms, a kitchen and two bathrooms. The apartments have bed linen (including towels) and cooking ware.

Each student shares a room with other students. Sharing an apartment with students from other countries offers students a great opportunity to enjoy an international atmosphere during their exchange period.

Location

The apartments are located in the suburb of Lukonmäki which is well known for its ski slope, located just next door to the housing locations. The closest suburb center is Hervanta (2,5km) where you can find services like supermarkets, library (=kirjasto), post office (=posti), pharmacy (=apteekki), Duo shopping mall, swimming center, gyms etc. You may take bus number 13 to Hermia direction to go to the center of Hervanta (step out of the bus in front of Duo).

Bus connections to Tampere city centre are good. Bus number 6 will take you to the city center in 20 minutes and to Tredu’s Santalahdentie campus in 23 minutes. Traveling by bus to Sammonkatu campus takes 19 minutes and to Sairaalankatu campus 16 minutes. Tredu’s Hepolamminkatu campus is within a walking distance.

Practical details

•Each student is responsible to keep the apartment clean and tidy. Upon his /her arrival a student will sign Accommoda-tion Housekeeping Contract. If the con-tract is not kept, the student will be charged 100€ penalty fee.

•Tap water is pure and drinkable in Finland.

•Shoes are not used inside of homes in Finland.

•The laundry room is available free of charge on the ground floor of B block. You can book the laundry room using the reservation book located in the laundry room. You need to have your own laundry detergent.

•Saunas are available free of charge on the ground floors of B and E blocks. Book your sauna session using the shift list on the door of the sauna. There are also “jogging saunas” when you can go to sauna without booking it beforehand (sauna “B” is for women and sauna “E” for men). Check the information boards of the saunas for the exact times.

•There is a fast and fixed internet con-nection (WLAN) available in both apart-ments.

•Smoking is forbidden at all TOAS loca-tions inside the flats as well in all com-mon areas (staircases, lifts, base-ments, common rooms, saunas and washrooms).

•According to the house regulations there is to be silence in the house between 10pm-7am.
