ABOUT US

TRIMETRICA provides engineering consultancy services, project planning, design and inspection services for civil engineering

works.

The company has a highly skilled team of engineering experts with a significant experience in structural design.

We are focused on the design of all types of engineering structures and building works, employing state-of-the-art technology.

TRIMETRICA has been particularly involved with project planning for structural rehabilitation and reinforcement works. We have

acquired specific expertise in reinforcement design for buildings, bridges, hydraulic structures and geotechnics.

We have completed projects that range from renovating traditional masonry buildings and old stone masonry bridges, to

reinforced concrete structures with structural anomalies.

How we do it?

The first step in a rehabilitation process is the Structural Condition Analysis of the construction

Analysis and assessment of the safety of a building’s structural condition is a key area in supporting decision-making on the type of intervention that might be required. Trimétrica is able to provide its customers with reliable, rigorous surveying and assessment of the safety of the structural condition of any type of structure.

Afterwards starts the design and calculation...

To design a structural rehabilitation we use the most advanced structural analysis methods combined with simple model calculations. We use FEM modelling, with modal dynamic analysis and/or pushover analysis, for seismic design. The materials and technologies prescribed for the rehabilitation works can be very traditional or the most up to date. It depends on the local conditions.

Rehabilitation: skills and knowledge

Planning interventions in historical buildings and engineering structures requires a particular brand of expertise. We have to meet strict requirements, ensuring that such structures have adequate strength and safety conditions, while being able to preserve the historical features with which they are associated at the same time. It is essential to preserve their original design and the materials they were originally built with.

Before design any rehabilitation it is important to know the construction techniques available in the region.

SEISMIC REHABILITATION AND REINFORCEMENT

Regulation

We often use Eurocodes regulation, but we also have the ability to use other regulation, such as American Regulations for Seismic Design.

Techniques

The shotcrete and metallic elements are the most used materials to achieve a safe seismic design.

STRUCTURAL MONITORING

A structural monitoring is used to evaluate structures for their capacity to serve their intended purpose.

Structural Monitoring is the process of assessing the state of health (e.g., damage) of instrumented structures from measurements. The goal of Structural Monitoring is to improve safety and reliability of infrastructure systems by detecting damage before it reaches a critical state and allow rapid post-event assessment.
