Saratoga, California

Project Description: Excavation, forming and pouring footings, grade beams, structural concrete support walls, slab on grade, metal deck, suspended slab, pilasters, stairs, architectural walls and ramps for ADA access. The exterior walls and support beam required substantial drilled and grouted tie back support system. The strategic coordination of the critical grading, tie back and grouting operations, and reinforcement and concrete forming and placement was essential. Scope also included reinforcing steel, installation of embeds, baserock, vapor barrier and concrete curing systems. Critical path scheduling was essential due to multiple trades and project being completed in a compressed timeline.


Rountree Detention Facility

Watsonville, California Owner: LRP – CGL/Moss for SCCS Project Description: Design-assist construction services for new two-story tilt-up panel building. Scope included structural and site concrete for new building, CIP concrete and suspended slab mezzanine, structural pre-cast concrete, SWPPP, earthwork, demo/clear, underground utilities, paving and surfacing, site furnishings, irrigation systems, planting and landscape.


Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital—Discovery Garden

Project Description: Site concrete for new green roof/courtyard on top of building structure. Project scope included cast-in-place site walls and planters, foundations for precast walls, sub-base for unit pavers, sub-base for exterior Lithocrete, extruded curbs and gutters, formed curbs and gutters, vehicular paving on grade, vehicular paving atop structure, exterior topping slabs on structural concrete, pedestrian paving, sidewalk, stairs, and ramps, foundations for bollards, light posts, sign posts, gate posts, fence posts.


San Francisco State University – Mashouf Recreation and Wellness Center

San Francisco, California

Owner: San Francisco State University Project Description: 120,000SF New construction, Recreation and Wellness Center, including cast-in-place spread and stepped wall footings, grade beams, basement level and site retaining walls, slab-on-grade, indoor pool deck slab, slab-on-metal deck, polish and sealed floors, extensive site concrete flatwork and retaining walls.


Las Positas College, Classroom Building 1000

Livermore, California

Owner: Chabot Las Positas Community College District

Project Description: New two-story academic building. Scope included spread and continuous footings, elevator pit, slab-on-grade including base rock and vapor barrier, interior building curbs, slab-on-metal deck, stairs and landings, mechanical pad on roof, and replacement flatwork between buildings.


Moffett Pararescue Replacement Training Facility

Mountain View, California

Owner: California Air National Guard — Moffett Federal Airfield

Project Description: Site preparation including demolition, clearing, grading, etc.; all site work and utilities, site concrete, cast-in-place concrete and all site security measures and devices for construction of a new 48,750 square foot facility to house the 131st Rescue Squadron/Guardian Angel Weapons System. Pedestrian and vehicular access were constantly maintained for existing walkways, corridors, and other adjacent occupied areas.


Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Haunted Castle

Santa Cruz, California

Owner: Santa Cruz Seaside Company/Slatter Construction

Project Description: Critical structural excavation and shoring systems between existing historical structures, active railroad line and within busy public areas. Base slab subgrade was below sea level and required extensive continuous dewatering efforts and constant coordination with local, State and Federal water and environmental agencies. Structural concrete walls and grade beams suspended concrete slabs, and extensive waterproofing systems.

Great America Wave Pool

Santa Clara, California

Project Description: Form and pour concrete walls, slabs, and trench drain for new wave pool. Including thorough seal of walls, caulking and installation of embeds.


Lake Cunningham Regional Park

San Jose, California

Owner: City of San Jose

Project Description: New 68,000 SF state of the art skate park. One of the largest ever built, the Wormhoudt Inc. designed park features the world’s largest cradle, tallest vert wall, and largest full pipe. In addition, the pools and features within the park are recreations of the original pools that were first skated in the 1960’s and 1970’s. The intricate craftsmanship and extreme tolerances of the features were paramount to the success of the project. Multiple confluences of different radiuses and conforms made for challenging concrete and shotcrete installations and coordination. The transitions of the walls, floors and radiuses are what make the features a success. This combined with the sheer size and height of the elements have made this park a worldwide success.


Skypark Skate Park

Scotts Valley, California

Owner: City of Scotts Valley

Project Description: Construction of new 20,000 square foot concrete skate park including rough and fine grading, cast-in-place concrete walls, ramps and curbs shotcrete concrete bowls and pipes handrails embedded steel edging and angles, perimeter walkways, fencing irrigation and landscaping.


Canada College Gateway

Redwood City, California

Owner: San Mateo County Community College District

Project Description: Miscellaneous campus-wide improvements including new decorative concrete paving and architectural features, walls with granite veneer, new lighting, new site furnishings, water features, signage, architectural paving, landscaping, resurfacing/retrofitting of existing campus roadways and parking lots with ADA compliant features, new utility (storm drain, sewer, electrical, irrigation) systems, infrastructure improvements, and traffic and pedestrian flow upgrades.


Marina Cove Waterfront Park

Alameda, California

Owner: City of Alameda

Project Description: Concrete scope included suspended slab on driven pile overlook, retaining walls, raised concrete seat walls and planter walls. The pile and grade beam operation were a critical element due to the constrained site conditions and environmental considerations. Pedestrian traffic control and safety concerns were extremely important due to the location and high-profile environment. Integrally colored concrete paving with architectural scoring, tot lot curbs, parking lot curbs and mow-bands were included for aesthetic appeal.


1275 Minnesota Street

San Francisco, CA

Owner: Minnesota Street LLC Project Description: Renovation and retrofit of an industrial warehouse into art gallery space with a central atrium and café. The scope of work included structural and site concrete, foundations, walls, slabs, sidewalks, and curbs and gutter. Additional components included site utilities, landscaping and irrigation, storm drainage, and street AC paving.


2155 Webster Avenue


Owner: Trumark Urban Project Description: Adaptive re-use project converting an office building into a luxury residential development. The structural concrete scope of work included structural concrete and rebar for the Main Tower (retrofit) and Townhomes (new construction) including walls, columns, beams, and slabs.


BYU Hawaii Multi‐Use Building, Concrete

Laie, Oahu, HI

Owner: Brigham Young University, Hawaii

Project Description: Construction of a new multi-use building for Brigham Young University in Hawaii. The 41,000 SF building features classrooms, faculty offices, and support rooms. Project scope includes spread footings and grade beams, thickened slab on grade, sidewalks, curbs, and site walls. The second and third floor suspended slabs feature a reinforced fiber concrete mix and there is a free-standing cast-in-place concrete staircase accessing all three levels.


CoreSite ‐ Stender


Owner: CoreSite

Project Description: Construction of a new two story, 101,250 square foot data center for Coresite. Scope of work includes concrete footings, foundations, utilities for potable water, site concrete, and excavation of existing concrete footings and foundations. Additional projects completed for Coresite include, K-4 rated security fence, landscaping and irrigation, AC replacement, reclaimed water, loading dock, and canopy.


Maple Street Correctional Facility

Redwood City, California

Owner: County of San Mateo

Project Description: New construction of a 260,000GSF correctional facility on a 4.67- acre site with surface parking, central plant, and offsite improvements. The site concrete scope included concrete walkways at building perimeter, offsite sidewalk, concrete pavement at central utility plant, curb and gutter, and concrete bioswales. The structural concrete scope included: radiant concrete floor at Level 2 & Level 3. This project is designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.


2690 Scott Boulevard

Project Description: Site preparation, including building pad and site grading, underground utility infrastructure and site work for a new one-story 21,000 SF concrete tilt-up office building. The project scope included: twenty-five tilt-up concrete panels, concrete building slab and trash enclosure, specialty colored and stamped concrete, asphalt parking lots with ADA access, concrete walkways, colored pavers, site irrigation and landscaping.


San Jose City College Science Building


Owner: San Jose / Evergreen Community College District

Project Description: Concrete work for new science building. Scope included miscellaneous paving, curb and gutter, architectural and finish concrete at elevator pits, building slabs, balconies, decks, stairs, ramps, skylight dome and temporary equipment pads.


Kohanaiki Golf Clubhouse & Spa

Kailua‐Kona, Hawaii

Owner: Kohanaiki Shore, LLC

Project Description: Construction of the multi-story 55,000 square foot luxury Kohanaiki Club house. Includes brewery, mechanical rooms, restaurant, movie theatre, suspended slab and pool, bowling alley Cast-in-place footings, walls and suspended slab. Retaining walls, driveway and other associated sitework. General Contractor: Metzler Contracting


Polynesian Cultural Center, Hukilau Marketplace

Laie, Hawaii

Owner: Polynesian Cultural Center

Project Description: New construction of a retail marketplace, scope of work included structural and architectural concrete sitework and flatwork, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways, paving and striping. Special features included a centrally located stepped concrete performance stage and gazebo, retail store fronts feature faux wood stained and stamped concrete.


Fort Hunter Liggett ECS Warehouse

Jolon, California

Owner: US Army Corps of Engineers

Project Description: Construction of a new Equipment Concentration Site at Fort Hunter Liggett in Jolon, CA. The 92,855 square foot facility provides open space storage and staging, office spaces, restroom facilities and an arms storage vault. Robert A. Bothman Construction provided all the structural concrete on the job including foundations, building slabs and tilt up panels. Additional scope includes construction of the high-tech munitions storage vault.


Queen Kaahumanu Highway Widening PH 2


Owner: County of Hawaii

Project Description: Form and pour: concrete collars at eleven culverts, concrete outlet structures at fourteen culverts, head wall and wing wall extensions at one culvert, footing and bollards at one culvert; concrete lining at eleven culverts


Ane Keohokalole Highway



Project Description: New construction of the first ever concrete paved road on the Island of Hawaii. The 3.2-mile, 5 lane highway, is the first major roadway construction project on the island in the last 20 years. The roadway features 2 hand formed lanes, hand placed vibratory screed, epoxy coated dowel baskets staggered from 12 to 15 feet, and a 10% grade uphill. Additional scope includes upgrades to Palanis Road which features 8-foot-wide concrete sidewalks, concrete spillways and ADA ramps.

Owner: KB Home South Bay Project Description: New residential development with concrete sitework including curb and gutter, sidewalk, ADA ramps, podiums, common areas, stairs, entryways, patios and driveways.

The Bluffs, Mauna Kea, Hawaii

Private Owner

Project Description: Custom home improvements including major structural foundation designs to incorporate storage and equipment below grade. Multiple pods distributed throughout the property for space and views. Intricate below grade concrete access service and equipment tunnels connecting pods, outside buildings, and the residence. Additional scope includes water features, decorative concrete, architectural concrete, and landscape improvements.

Project Description: Installation of structural concrete for multi-level academic and athletic buildings includes column foundations, wall footings, concrete walls, slab on grade, suspended slabs, roof decks & columns, work also includes architectural concrete for exterior walls, concrete planters & site furnishings.

Project Description: Contemporary pool structure, spa, and outdoor living / dining area. Construction included structural, architectural, and site concrete, an engineered steel frame structure with glass skylight and a separate solarium. Bothman Construction also successfully managed installation of the support systems such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing and roofing trades. Other elements to the project included Bothman’s custom landscape design with a wide variety of planting, new stone, tile, retaining walls, stairwells, water features, irrigation, and storm drainage system.

Project Description: New foundation and architectural concrete for a private residence in Mauna Kea, Hawaii. Construction primarily consisted of concrete and glass installation. Additional scope includes construction of a pool and pool house, reflecting ponds, entry pavilion, structural and architectural concrete interior and exterior walls and columns, specialized concrete mix design with coral for architectural elements on all exposed surfaces. The concrete retaining walls and elevated elements allowed all equipment, storage and exercise rooms to be below grade.


West Hawaii Civic Center

Keohokalole, Hawaii


Project Description: New Construction of an 80,000 square foot civic center. The LEED Silver project features water efficient landscaping, recycled and certified wood products, bicycle parking, an electric car charge station and a 250-kW photovoltaic system atop the center’s parking structure.

Business disruptions were very minimal as Bothman accelerated schedule to minimize construction durations at the same time adhered to a set of work hours geared to avoid peak business hours.
