I love street and cultural photography. I'm drawn to this art form primarily because each image really does capture a slice of history; a moment in time; a scene from life that is not staged, not posed and not directed. With the exception of being filtered through my perspective, it's honest. The images in this book represent some of my street outings over the past four years (2011-2014). Of course Las Vegas is very photogenic, which actually makes it more of a challenge. It’s a place where it's too easy to get shots that look like postcards you can buy in any store on the Strip. Although several of my images are of the famous architecture and structures that create Las Vegas' iconic skyline, I really strive to look for less typical shots; sometimes going to the parts of town that most tourists rarely see. And of course there are the people. Those are my favorite photos. Some are candid and there are some street portraits of some very cool people I've met during my walks. For those who are curious, the work in this book was shot with two different cameras. My Canon 5D Mark II (usually with my 50mm f/1.2 prime lens shot wide open) and my Fujifilm X100 which I absolutely love for street shooting! I hope you enjoy looking through the shots as much as I enjoyed taking them. - T.A. Vieira

I love street and cultural photography and although it's not an extremely large city, Las Vegas has plenty to offer for a photographer to capture on a daily basis.
