The Summit: The Manhattan Transfer Meets Take 6 is one of the most unique and thrilling musical collaborations ever assembled. With 20 Grammy Awards between them, these two iconic groups have joined forces to perform together. This is an event!

Unlike other co-bills or meetings, The Manhattan Transfer and Take 6 were not content to sing a set and simply join each other for a finale. They have created musical moments onstage—singing and performing nearly a dozen songs together—during this show. You will experience the creativity, excitement, and renowned performances that only two phenomenal groups can bring to one stage, in the moment.

ABOUT THE MANHATTAN TRANSFERThe Manhattan Transfer (Janis Siegel, Alan Paul, Cheryl Bentyne, and Trist Curless) remains a cornerstone for the great jazz and pop hits that earned them induction into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Their first hit, “Operator,” was followed by “The Boy from New York City,” making them the first group to win Grammy Awards in both pop and jazz categories in the same year. The 12 Grammy nominations they received for their album Vocalese in 1985 made it second only to Michael Jackson’s Thriller as the most-nominated album in one year, cementing their status as one of the most important vocal groups in the history of popular music. “Route 66” and their rendition of “Birdland” are yet more memorable classics of their 19 singles and 29 albums over their stellar career. With worldwide record sales in the millions, their melodic and jazz-infused vocals continue to bring audiences back year after year.

ABOUT TAKE 6Take 6 (Claude McKnight, Mark Kibble, Joel Kibble, Dave Thomas, Alvin Chea and Khristian Dentley) has been recognized as the quintessential a capella group in virtually every genre. They were inducted last year into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame, from whom they have received 10 Dove Awards. They have also earned a Soul Train Music Award and Black Radio Exclusive Vocal Group of the Year Award. Heralded by Quincy Jones as the “baddest vocal cats on the planet,” Take 6 captivates the audience wherever they perform. They have performed on Saturday Night Live, the Oscars, the Grammys, for four sitting United States presidents, and at the Democratic National Convention. Believe, their 16th album, is Take 6’s most recent recording and displays every musical side of this extraordinary group.
