Promoting U.S. support for a just and lasting
peace in Colombia.
Encouraging the opening of U.S. relations with
Cuba and achieve an end to the travel ban and
embargo.
Advocating for humanitarian—rather than
military—aid and cutting harmful
counternarcotics strategies.
Promote Peace
Protect Migrants & Refugees
Ensuring the United States presses for advances in investigations into human rights violations and
corruption, and for comprehensive reforms to strengthen justice systems.
Encouraging U.S. government and civil society support for human rights defenders—including women's
rights and LGBTQI advocates, union organizers, migrant rights' defenders, journalists, indigenous and
Afro-descendant leaders, and community activists.
Uphold Just ice & Defend the Defenders
Upholding policies that defend migrants' rights to seek
protection and access due process without detention.
Promoting rights-respecting U.S. assistance and programs that
address root causes of migration and forced displacement.
Increasing understanding of the humanitarian nature of forced
displacement and the refugee crisis from Central America.
Urging protections for Dreamers and Salvadoran, Honduran,
Nicaraguan, and Haitian members of our communities whose
countries were devastated by natural disasters.
Advance Land , Economic & Env i ronmenta l Rights
Supporting campaigns by indigenous, Afro-descendant, and other excluded communities who are
defending their environmental, economic, and land rights by conducting advocacy and mobilizing
grassroots action.
In our 35 year s , we 've he lped pave the way f rom war to peace i n Cent ra l Amer ica and
Colombia , success fu l l y pushed the Uni ted States to open dip lomat ic re la t ions with
Cuba , defended migrants ' and re fugees ' r ights , campa igned fo r j u s t i ce and
accountab i l i t y i n Mex ico , and demanded protect ions fo r human r ights defenders .
