Audio Script: This is the story of our Magical Disney Vacation. We decided to celebrate Thanksgiving with the mouse for 2008! Our trip began at Disney World and ended with a 7 night cruise aboard the Disney Magic. Follow me to a place where dreams really do come true!

Audio Script: Our vacation began with a two night stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This was a beautiful resort, and it was completed decorated for Christmas. Our flight arrived very late, so the first night we checked out the resort and went to bed early. After a good night’s sleep, Brandon couldn’t wait to go check out the pool!

Audio Script: We had a blast at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! The park was closed to regular guests, and we had to have special tickets to get in, but we were able to ride all of the rides without waiting in long lines. We also received free hot chocolate and cookies all night! I think we were all sick of hot chocolate by the time midnight came around, and we headed back to our resort to get some sleep. Tomorrow was the day we had been waiting for! We would be boarding the Disney Magic for a 7 night cruise!

Audio Script: After grabbing some lunch, Matt and Brandon decided to hit the pool for a bit. We were lucky enough to be traveling with some other families that we had sailed with before. The kids always love traveling with their friends!

Audio Script: Once we got to our room, I quickly decorated our door so our friends could easily find us. The family thought I went overboard with the door decorations, but only a true Disney Cruise Line addict would understand! For the very first time, we were able to upgrade to a verandah room, and we couldn’t wait to enjoy it for the next 7 days!

Graphics: Pictures of our servers, Evan and Tijuani.

Audio Script: On our first evening on the cruise, our dinner was at Animator’s Palate. We were thrilled to see who our servers would be for the cruise. Evan, also known as Rambo, has been our server on other cruises. He is ornery as can be, but the kids love him! Tijuani was great fun as well. I think he was put with Rambo just to calm Rambo down!

Sunday, November 23rd: Castaway Cay

Audio Script: When we awoke on our second morning of the cruise, we found ourselves in our favorite place in the world—Castaway Cay! This was a special cruise because we’d get to visit Disney’s private island twice! We’d begin and end our cruise with visits here. Ahhhh! This place is just heavenly.

Audio Script: As we exited the ship and started walking over the bridge to the island, we saw Jack Sparrow posing by the Flying Dutchman! Much to the family’s dismay, I made them wait in line for a picture. Some day they will appreciate my assertive picture taking!

Audio Script: Just when the family thought they could head straight for the water, I made them stop a few more times for some photo opportunities. It is tradition—every time we’ve gone on a Disney Cruise, the kids take their picture by the Disney anchors. I couldn’t break tradition, right?

Audio Script: We finally made it to the beach area! I always love the pictures of the kids by the water. Brandon’s favorite thing to do is play in the sand, and he got started on that immediately!

Graphics: Pictures of Brian and Brianna getting ready to snorkel.

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play.

Effects: Will create in Movie Maker

Transition: Will create in Movie Maker

Special Effects: None

Audio Script: Brian and Brianna decided to start their day out with some snorkeling. A hurricane had removed the underwater statue of Mickey, so they were going to search for the new underwater Minnie. I opted not to snorkel. The water was a bit too chilly for my liking! I’m always fine in a beach chair somewhere though, and I enjoyed watching Brandon build his sandcastles.

Graphics: Pictures of bicycling.

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play.

Effects: Will create in Movie Maker

Transition: Will create in Movie Maker

Special Effects: None

Audio Script: After a while, we decided to do something that we’ve done every time we have gone on a Disney cruise—go bicycling. They have a cool bike trail that leads you way back on the island. There is a lookout tower at the far end, and when you climb to the top, you can see for miles. We have also discovered a beautiful picture spot on the bicycle trail.

Graphics: Pictures in hammocks.

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play.

Effects: Will create in Movie Maker

Transition: Will create in Movie Maker

Audio Script: When we finished bicycling, we stopped by the game area for a while, and Brian and the kids played basketball, ping pong, and some of the other games. We then spotted some hammocks and decided to try them out. They are quite difficult to get in and out of! I’d say a couple of members of our family look right at home in their hammocks though!

Graphics: Formal night picture.

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play.

Audio Script: After a long day at Castaway Cay, we headed back to the ship to get cleaned up. Tonight was formal night, and we would be dining in Parrot Cay. Brandon had already had his fill of pictures as you can tell. I thought we cleaned up pretty nicely though.

Monday, November 24th: A Day at Sea

Graphics: Pictures from Palo.

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play.

Effects: Will create in Movie Maker

Transition: Will create in Movie Maker

Audio Script: Today would be our day at sea. Brian and I met with several other couples to enjoy a brunch at Palos, the adult only restaurant. The kids always disappear on sea days and do their own things. They go swimming and eat lots of junk! Brandon spends most of his time in the game room and on the basketball court. Brianna likes to catch a movie and spend time in the kids’ clubs. Our dinner tonight would be at Lumiere’s. Tomorrow would be our first visit to Cozumel, Mexico!

Tuesday, November 25th: Cozumel, Mexico

Graphics: Welcome to Cozumel picture.

Audio Script: Today was going to be a fun day in Cozumel! We were beginning our day with a dune buggy rental. We’d stop for some snorkeling and would then cruise around the island in our dune buggy!

Audio Script: The dune buggy was a blast! We had it for the entire day, and we all stayed together as a group. Our first stop was for some snorkeling fun.

Audio Script: There were a couple of tour leaders that led us to our snorkel equipment and demonstrated in a pool the proper procedures for snorkeling. They then took us across the street to step into the ocean and give it a try for ourselves. I opted out on this snorkeling adventure as well. I know—I’m a party pooper at times. I just don’t like cold water!

Graphics: Pictures of view in Cozumel and on beach while at lunch.

Audio Script: After we finished snorkeling, we got back in our dune buggies and headed to a little place about 20 minutes away where we’d be having lunch. I had never seen anything so beautiful! The coastline was just as you see it on the movies. The waves were splashing against rocks, and the water looked as blue as it could be. We arrived at our lunch destination and were able to get some great pictures out on the rocks. This place was beginning to rank right up there with Castaway Cay in my book!

Graphics: Pictures of stop sign and Pee Pee Station.

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play.

Audio Script: Our lunch was delicious, and it was time to make our way around the rest of the island to head back to the ship. But, not before stopping to make a much needed stop at the Pee Pee Station! This place was hilarious! It was a store that carried various Mexican made items, but the name definitely got your attention. Now it was time to head back to the Magic and get ready for our dinner at Lumiere’s. Tomorrow we’d be visiting Grand Cayman for the very first time!

Wednesday, November 26th: Grand Cayman

Graphics: Pictures of Grand Cayman, Pirate Ship, and Disney Magic from beach.

Audio Script: Today we were going to have a fun filled day at Grand Cayman. We thought this island was also beautiful! We were doing the Grand Cayman Island tour which included a visit to the turtle farm.

Audio Script: As we were taking our bus tour around the island, there was wildlife everywhere! We saw lots of lizards, birds, and quite a few chickens (which made Brianna very happy)!

Audio Script: This was the turtle farm in Grand Cayman. The kids loved this place! Although we didn’t like to see the turtles caged up, it was a neat experience for the kids. They were able to pick up some of the smaller turtles and pet the larger ones. As you can see from the pictures, both kids got a little wet when their turtles started flapping their flippers!

Graphics: Pictures from Hell in Grand Cayman.

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play.

Transition: Will create in Movie Maker

Special Effects: None

Audio Script: We had been told that in order to say you’d truly visited Grand Cayman, you had to visit a place they called Hell. To be quite honest, we found it to be quite boring, but we were glad we did it just once. There was lots of black rock, a post office, and a gift store. We then boarded our bus to head back to the ship. Dinner tonight was going to be at Animator’s Palate.

Thursday, November 27th: A Day at Sea

Graphics: Pictures from dinner and in front of gingerbread house.

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play.

Effects: Will create in Movie Maker

Audio Script: Today was our second sea day. I’m guessing we must have done a lot of relaxing because I hardly took any pictures! I did manage to get the kids in front of the gingerbread house that was being completed during our sailing, and I got the result of Rambo and some desert that was rubbed in Brandon’s face at Parrot Cay for dinner that night. The servers (and the boys) got ornerier and ornerier as the cruise progressed. In fact, Rambo blindfolded Matt, tied him to his chair with napkins, and drug him to someone else’s table where he left him. I do have to admit—it was pretty hilarious!

Friday, November 28th: Our Second Stop at Castaway Cay

Graphics: Castaway Cay Welcome sign.

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play.

Audio Script: We had arrived at our favorite place in the world for a second time—Castaway Cay! We were in for a big surprise on this day and had no idea—more on that later.

Graphics: Brianna at Castaway Cay with Christmas decorations.

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play.

Audio Script: The ship had been being decorated for Christmas all week long with subtle things added each day. When we got off of the ship for our second Castaway Cay day, it appeared that Christmas was happening there as well! There were carolers and several photo opportunities that displayed the sandy beaches behind Christmas props.

Audio Script: Brandon quickly found a spot to start building his sand castles, and Brianna went off to do a teen excursion called The Wild Side and then played some beach volleyball.

Audio Script: Brian and I decided to just sit in some beach chairs and relax for a bit. As you can see, Brian thought he might look pretty cute with gigantic shoes. He will always be a kid at heart!

Audio Script: In all of the Disney cruises we’ve taken, Brian and I have never gone to the adults only beach at Castaway Cay: Serenity Bay. We decided to check it out this time, and we were sure glad we did. You could wade out forever before the water actually started getting deep, and we saw all kinds of amazing sea life (some of which we were afraid to touch with our hands!).

Graphics: Pictures of the Wonder approaching Castaway Cay.

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play. Will try to put ships horns in background to display the honk off between the ships.

Audio Script: As we were making our way back over to the family beach, we spotted a ship in the distance. We thought that was kind of odd because only one ship can visit Castaway Cay at a time. We used our camera, zoomed in, and soon discovered it was the Disney Wonder. All of the adults were acting as excited as kids on Christmas morning. What was happening? The Wonder continued to sail closer and closer, and what happened next was so exciting—the two ships had a horn honking contest! It was great! One would sound and then the other! The kids didn’t see what was so great about it, but we tried to explain that having both ships there at the same time has only happened a few times in Disney Cruise Line’s history. Brian and I thought it was awesome!

Audio Script: The kids and I decided to head back to the ship to relax a bit and start getting cleaned up for dinner. Gene (one of our friends) asked Brian if he wanted to try sailing. Brian took him up on the offer, and I was able to watch them off of our verandah. See? I knew the money we paid for the upgrade was money well spent!

Graphics: Pictures of boys with Rambo.

Audio Script: Dinner that night was at Lumiere’s. It was bittersweet as they always are—for this was the last night of our magical vacation. It’s always sad to tell your servers goodbye and bring things to a close because you just don’t want it to end, especially when Rambo has been our server for several cruises now. But, as they say, all good things must come to an end. We ate our dinner and headed back to the room to get things packed up and ready for the morning.

Saturday, November 29th: Back to Reality

Graphics: Final gingerbread house and Christmas tree.

Audio Script: After grabbing some breakfast and saying our final farewells to our friends, I took some last minute pictures of the completed gingerbread house and one more picture of the beautiful Christmas tree that was in the lobby. Sadly, we then disembarked the Disney Magic.

Graphics: Disney Magic

Audio: Yes, background music will continue to play and will fade out. Digital storybook will end with one final honking of the ship’s horn.

Audio Script: Although we were sad to be leaving, we had a lot to be thankful for. We have always been very fortunate to travel to lots of faraway places with the kids. This had been a fantastic vacation done only the way Disney can do it. Plus, anyone who knows me and knows me well knows that I wouldn’t cruise without visiting the rebooking desk onboard! The result? We will be traveling with the mouse again next Thanksgiving!
