Mother Goose on the Loose is a method for helping children develop early literacy and

school readiness skills that combines music, movement, art, picture books, and puppets

with nursery rhymes in a fun way.

The program lasts approximately 30 minutes and is geared to children from birth to age 3.

Week of January 6 And to Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street We begin our journey into the fantastic places in our favorite children’s books with a trip to Mulberry Street and the wonderful world of Dr.

Seuss. Our adventure will include playing with Play-Doh and coloring a picture of Mulberry Street.

Week of January 13 Pooh’s Snowy Day Bring your favorite stuffed friend to Story Time and travel together for our next stop in the Hundred Acre Wood, where we will visit Pooh and his friends

and make a Winnie the Pooh mask.

Week of January 20 Where the Wild Things Are This week we will travel over a year and in and out of weeks and through a day to where the wild things are. We will make a Wild Thing of our very

own using recycled materials. The library will be closed on Monday January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Week of January 27 Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs We’ll conclude our amaz-ing journey with an excursion to the land of Chewandswallow! Learn what happens when the weather in this town

takes a wrong turn, then make a weather bear craft out of construction paper.

February Paint the Town Red!

Week of February 3 The Red Hen Who will join us as we read the story? We hope you will! We will read the book and then use puppets to recreate the story. We will make a red hen puppet

using a paper bag.

Week of February 10 Love, Ruby Valentine Be sure to come dressed in red for this week’s Story Times as we celebrate Valentine’s Day by making

Valentine’s Day cards and sharing a special treat.

Week of February 17 Clifford the Big Red Dog Who is our favorite colorful pet? Why Clifford the Big Red Dog of course! This week we will read about Clifford’s adventures and make a Clifford picture

using construction paper. The Library will be closed on Monday February 17 n observance of President’s Day.

Week of February 24 Llama Llama Red Pajama Wear your favorite PJ’s for Story Time this week! We will read about llovable lla-ma llama and make a llama craft using construction paper and cotton balls.
