GRAYSON. - In loving remembrance ofour dear Father, Allen Grayson, whodeparted this life August 16th, 1893.

Gone but not forgotten,

A precious one from us is gone. Avoice we loved is stilled ;

A place is vacant in our home Whichnever can be filled.

God in his wisdom has recalled Theboon His love had given ;

And though tbe body lingers here, Thesoul is safe in heaven.

Inserted by a loving son and daughter,Francis and Eliza Grayson.

WARWICK, July I6.

Robert Grayson, who was formerly sub-inspector of police at Warwick but whoretired on a pension a few years ago,has been missing since last Saturdayweek, and it is feared that he has metwith his death. Diligent search hasbeen made by the police and a numberof civilians, but no trace of themissing man can be found.

QUEENSLAND NEWS. (1888, July 17). TheBrisbane Courier (Qld. : 1864 - 1933),p. 5.

Strange Disappearance of a Well KnownResident of Warwick.

As is now generally known, Mr. RobertGrayson has been missing sinceSaturday week. His friends, thinkingthat he might at any time turn up,particularly requested us last weeknot to make mention of thedisappearance-hence our silence. Mr.Grayson, who was formerly a Sub-inspector of Police, was last seen atMr. Sweeney's Hotel, in company withMr. E. Malone, on the evening of the7th inst., at about 11 o'clock. He andMalone had had one or two glassestogether, and the latter tried toinduce Grayson to remain all night.This, however, Mr. Grayson would nothear of, as his family would bewondering what had become of him; soMalone bade him good-night, and thatwas, to all accounts, the last time hewas seen. All along the Condamine thepools have been dragged, and chargesof dynamite exploded, but to noeffect; search has been made for aradius of several miles round Warwick,through scrub and bush, quarry hole,and all likely places for a person to

tumble down in the dark, but with notrace of the missing man. The policehave been out day and night displayingsingular zeal. A large search partywill start out this morning, andSergeant Kelly will be glad if allthose who can possibly spare the time,will volunteer their services and meetin front of the Police Barracksbetween half-past ten and eleven thismorning. It is strange that a man,especially one of Mr. Grayson's age,should be lost to view for so long; hecan not possibly have gone any greatdistance, and we feel sure that, if alarge party were organised assuggested by Sergeant Kelly, themissing man or some news about himwill be found before sundown.

Strange Disappearance of a Well KnownResident of Warwick. (1888, July 18).Warwick Examiner and Times (Qld. :1867 - 1919), p. 2.

The body of Robert Grayson, who hasbeen missing since the 7th instant,was found by the police floating inthe river near the Queen's Park to-day. There were no marks of violenceon the body.
